I r Against All Odds Starting a week late with only five experienced players, the Jazz Band proved it beat the odds to be a super band. The band's numerous appearances included the What-A-Sho, a jazz festival, and a spring tour along with several small public shows. Top of the Heap Concert Band certainly was at the top ot the heap at B.l-l.S. Concert Band consisted of the top wind and percussion players in the school chosen by auditions last spring. Many students stated that they enjoyed the wide variety of interesting music their director, Mr. Mark Patterson, chose for them to play. A lot of pratice and dedication was what put these students on top. Several students, when asked why they liked band, said they liked all the people they met and the friends they made through band activities. Bama' 011 The Run The marching season entailed many feats for the Raider Band on the run. After running to positions for halt-time shows, Derin Brooks and Annette Hunt lead the Raiders through many parades around the state. For the first time in Raider history, Mr. Patterson and several chaperones took about 50 band members to Ft. Warden for a weekend of marching and music. Starting out small in force, the Raider Marching Band joined with the trash to increase the uamoeba to lO5 mem- bers.
