Missing: Rhonda Cadman, Maureen Cleary, Gretchen Heller, Kristen Heller, and Natalie Fields. 26:1: Tami Grunhurd worked hard to add to the Orchestra’s musical performance. 2: In preparation for the Practice-a-thon, Connie Lawrence and Natalie Fields prac- ticed playing the violins together. 3: Kim McGlenn used her skill to add to the out- standing performance of the Orchestra. 4: In order to improve his skill, Keith Scher- merhorn listened intently to Mr. Schlict- ing’s instructions. 5: Karen Copland con- sulted Mr. Schlicting for more instruction. 27:1: Tracy Pinnell worked hard to perfect her playing of ‘‘Pomp and Circumstance”’ for graduation. 2: Playing his violin, con- cert master Su-Mu Chen concentrated hard on the music. 3: Elizabeth Pitsch played her cello with enthusiasm. 4: Carla Haggith took a break from playing her vio- lin. Good Individual Talent The Orchestra members worked hard as individuals, and when combined, formed a very talented group. As well as performing con- certs for the school like the Fall, Christmas and Mid-Winter Concerts and Graduation, they took their annual trip to CWU to play. A fundraiser that the Orchestra held was an annual candy sale at Christmas time. At the end of the year, they were awarded with a visit to Olympia which consisted of trips to the Capitol Building, State Capitol, Museums, Brown and Haly Candy company, and the Olym- pia Brewery. According to Mr. Schlicting, the Orchestra’s size was dampered but certainly not their spirits as proved by their performances throughout the year.
