During the year they played at assem- blies, concerts, and other school func- tions. Flag Team Entertained The Flag Team again had a full squad with fourteen members captained by senior Natalie Downs. The girls were chosen from choir but became part of the marching band during football half-time shows and parades. The group also accompanied ihe band to Victoria in the spring. Row 1: Captain Natalie Downs. Row 2: Theda Duncan, Michelle Gilliam, Sue Thorsteinson, Cindy Hoekstra, Cathy Green, and Jennifer Mixon. Row 3: Margaret Duncan, Pam Wiebe, Caren Crabtree, Sandra Shaffer, Julie Riseland, Shelly Varner, and Vinnie Jameson. 1: Despite appearances Michelle Gilliam did end up in the right place. 2: Vinnie Jameson, Margaret Duncan, and Sue Thorsteinson stood to attention during a football half-time show. 3: Shelly Varner, Sandra Shaffer, and Vinnie Jameson performed a routine for the show. -
