1: Choir members moved around to hear each others' parts. 2: Some altos got a little taste of Latin while singing Ave Verumu. 3: Lisa Zappa, Becky Johnson, and Laura Selnes worked on sight read- ing. 4: Terry King and Mark Bauthues had fun with Mr. Sliger's car on his birthday, 5: Some tenors and basses sang with their usual great enthusiasm. 6: Choir members patiently waited for the audience to quiet down during the Christmas Assembly. 7: The altos warmed up at the beginning of class. 8: Mr. Sliger helped the bass section im- prove the quality of their tone. 9: The vw unusual seating arrangement for the day didn't seem to affect Matt Atkins' enthusiasm for singing in any way. The Choirs' first appearance was in the Winter Concert held in the cafeteria, Nov. 22. Christmas season was busy for the Choir with a school concert Dec. 12, a performance for the Central Lions Club at the Leopold Inn, Dec. 15, and caroling in the halls Dec. 16. The new robes were first worn March 1 when the Choir sang at Central Lu- theran Church. One contest which the Choir entered was held at WWU on April 15. The Choir was also in the Spring Concert which took place on May 16. The Choir engaged in many methods of madness to raise money for the new robes and future trips. Choir members sold last years' light bulbs, held newspaper drives throughout the year, and sold candy at Christmastime. The new robes were ordered in October, but didn't arrive until after Christmas. The robes cost a total of 953418, 351500 of which was paid by the ASB and the remaining S1918 by the Choir. One short trip which the Choir took was to Lincoln High School in Tacoma. 21

Swing Chorus Entertained With a Variety of Music Swing Chorus' first performance of the year was the annual or What-a-Show, Oct. 20. The Win- ter Concert marked the first ap- pearance of Swing Chorus' new outfits. One of Swing's best per- formances was given at Faith Lutheran Church. Swing also sang at the Leopold Inn for a state official. On May 9, they sang for the Retired Teachers Assoc. Among their many per- formances, Swing Chorus also sang at the yacht club, masonic temple, convalescent centers, churches, and the Senior Activ- ity Center. 1: Some of the altos worked on After the Goldrushw. 2: The Swing Chorus sang a medley of songs entitled It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year at the Christmas Assembly. 3: Suzanne Wal- ton, Teresa Lowmon, Nancy Rushin, and Chris Calkins worked on an arrangement of After the Goldrushu. 4: Duane Noble, Karin Jones, and Terry King haughtily posed here While showing off the What-a-Show Make-up job which had been done on their faces. 5: Members of the Swing Chorus weakly tried to remember the movements to Walk on By . 6: John Unger, Mark Bauthues, Terry King, and Jeff Jenkins concen- trated on finding the right notes.
