DOOR OF FAME OPEN FOR MR. JEWELL The hair may be faded, but not that smile! Showing the same sense of humor and keen wit that were his trademark thirty years ago, Mr. Earle Jewell, head of mathematics at BHS, holds the loving respect of students and fellow faculty members. Father of five children and grandfather of nine others, a professional teacher in all respects, Mr. Jewell still finds time for his sports. Never losing the profes- sional touch, he has bowled a total of 7OO for three consecutive games, quali- fying his membership in the select 7OO Club, and he operates his own reef-net- ting boat aff Lummi Island. Remembered with a smile by literally thousands of townspeople, Mr. Jewell has led his basketball teams to state fi- nal first place playoffs, has coached the BHS track teams, and today ranks tirst in seniority, having taught math at BHS ever since the school was built 26 years ago. Because of all these accomplishments, but mainly because you are YOU, we, the Shuksan Staff of '63, are proud to dedicate our yearbook to you-lvlr. Earle Jewell. Eight Twenty years makes little difference to Mr. Personality Plus! Concentration, in bowling as in teaching, pays big dividends. At the other end of this alley? A,Strike!
