New laboratories, due to open in 1961, will give us more working room and less congestion. The staff, numbering five in 1959-60, will be increased to six in the fall of 1960. Both major and a minor in chemistry are offered. Graduates with a major in chemistry find employment in high Roland Trytten school teaching or in industry. The art department offers courses in drawing, color and design, interior deco- ration, art history, art appreciation and various crafts including clay modeling, leather tooling and carving, copper tool- ing and enameling. Outdoor sketching is followed by water color and oil paint- ing. An art minor is offered which includes 20 credits.
