The pfzinces Ualianf Mr. Karp ADMINISTRATION Though we seldom see him, we know that our hard-working superintendent of schools, C. Paine Shangle, had a busy year with the problem of financing Bellingham schools and the closing of Lincoln school. It takes a good sense of humor to be in charge of Bellingham High, and our principal, Julian Karp, has what it takes. His chief undertaking this year was to promote better attendance. If he's hard to find but Wonderful once you locate him, itls our assistant principal, Harlan Jackson. Mr. ,lackson has the complete confidence of the students, and his smiling face is a familiar part of our school life. Mr. Shangle Mr. jackson BOARD OF EDUCATION One problem faced by the Board of Edu- cation this year was the closing of Lincoln Grade School after it was reported in poor condition. The Boardls chief worry was the struggle for legislative financial support. Reverend Carl Calhoun served as chair- man ofthe Board, and Dr. Ralph Sharning- house was elected to replace lVlr.
