Student Council 3,4- Class History Freshmen: Seotember 1951{--55 We entered High School in 195U with 65 members in our class. The first event was the election of class officers: President, Raymond LeBlanc; Vice-President, Albert Pincince; Secretary, Brenda Canestrari; Treasurer, Anne McLaughlin; Student Council, Jean Daloe and Alfred Grenier; Advisor, Mr. William Conlan. Then came the day of initiation, we were all rewarded at the Freshmen Acquaintance dance held by the Seniors that night. We, the freshmen, then held our very own dance which started our treasury growing for our all impor¬ tant Washington Trip. We then had our class trip to Nantasket, where a good time was had by all. One year passed, a Senior class gone, but an advance by our class. Sophomore: Seotember 1955-56 When we all returned in the Fall,we found that a few of our old classmates were missing, but we were joined by a few others to make our class strong. We again had elections of class officers: President, Theodore Graves; Vice-President, Raymond Cloutier; Treasurer, Claire Belanger; Secretary, Jean Dalpe; Student Council, Pauline Gladu and Donald Godin; Advisor, Mr. Jeremiah Kellett. This year we were allowed to hold two events. Our Sophomore Banquet was held at the Em¬ bassy Club, and every one had a wonderful time. Then came our Thanksgiving dance. That made our treasury grow even more. Then came another class trip, another year completed, another Senior class gone, another step forward by our class. Juniors: September 1956-57 In our Junior year, we had a large number of students, one of the largest classes yet. This year again, we held elections of class officers: President,Albert Pineince,Vice - President, Theodore Graves; Secretary, Constance Trottier; Treasurer,Claire Belanger;Student Council, Claudette Dauphin and Normand Trudeau; Class Advisor, Mr. Jeremiah Kellett. We held our Halloween dance; it was a great success. We also selected and received our class rings. Early in Aoril, we started making preparations for the big event, our Prom. Soliciting and decorating was greatly enjoyed. The weather helDed to make it successful. Our Prom coiors were orchid, pink, and green. We danced to tne music of Gene King’s Orchestra and our theme song was ’’Almost Par¬ adise.” Our Prom king was Raymond Cloutier, and our Prom auecn was Priscilla Goryl. i ( 11487 The next event, and the last of the year, was the trip to Nantasket. Everything was at an end for that year and our hardest year was to begin. During the summer we held a few activities sponsored by our Senior Club. These were held to help us raise money for our long awaited Washington Trio. Senior: Sentember 1957-58 At the beginning of the year we chose class officers im¬ mediately so that we could begin our activities for the year. The officers chosen were: President, Albert Pincince; Vice- President, Brenda Canestrari; Treasurer, Claire Belanger; Secretary, Jean Dalpe; Student Council, Jeannette Belanger and Robert Tessier; Class Advisor, Mr. James Keough. We were glad to be the first class to welcome instead of initiating the Freshmen into our school. That night we held a dance in their honor. We all had a good time. Our second big event of the year was our Christmas dance. We h9d a club plan to helo us raise some money. Our raffle was the last means to helo us raise more needed money for our trip. It was a success due to the aid of the townspeople ’s generosity. We had begun working on the yearbook in January. Albert Pin¬ cince was elected Editor-in-Chief of the Yearbook Staff. The yearbook was quite .a task but we finally completed it at the last minute . We have just finished re-living all these four years in just a few hours. Last night we enjoyed ourselves at our Senior Banquet; today is our class day 7 , and tommorrow is our last class triD to Nantasket. Thursday evening is graduation with all its tears and smiles. Last, but probably the most remembered, will be the last formal of our high school years, the Commencement Ball, with its beautiful colors and dreamy music. We enjoyed every minute of every year that we have had. The work that, we did have to do was well-worth the trouble. We also appreciate all the aid and co-coeration of the people of the town, faculty of the high school, and all that the students gave us in order to make these four years ' a memo¬ rable one to each and every one of us. Destination: Washington New York There was plenty of excitement buzzing around the high school that morning. Why? Because everyone was waiting im¬ patiently for our three chaperones to arrive. Mr. Keough had our baggage tickets so we didn ' t want to leave him behind. We loaded the bus which headed for Providence. After waiting to board the train, we were finally on our way. It was a long ride to Grand Central Station and a short walk over to the B. 0. Terminal where the bus was waiting to take us to New Jersey to take the train to Washington. We arrived in Washington with the rain and thunder to greet us. We walked from the station to the Carlyle Hotel. Here, our rooms were assigned and we unpacked. This was our first free evening. Tuesday at 6:30 it was rise and shine for a big day ahead of us. First we took a bus to the Bureau of Printing and Engraving. Here we saw more money than one could believe possible. Thirty-two million dollars a day is printed. Next we headed for the Smithsonian Institute where we saw every thing from the hugh dinasaurs to you name it i Our next visit was the Washington Monument. Those 896 steps were a long hike for those who walked up, but coming down we thought we would never reach the bottom. Back to the hotel for lunch. It certainly does and to think in a matter of minutes we will unite once again. I wonder just how many of our classmates we will be able to recognize. I don’t know, but we shall soon find out for here comes one of them now. I think it ' s Claudette... Claudette Dauphin. You’re right; it Is she. She ' s not at all the way I pictured her. After all who would ever think a professional tennis player could ever look so stunning. I know, Connie, but some people have all the luck. Speaking of luck, Albert Pincince never needed any with the head that he had. For a student who almost wrecked the Chemistry room one day with his crazy-mixed-up experiments, he is known one of the most famous chemists. Here comes Priscilla Goryl, one of the foremost designers in the fashion world. Lorraine, that fellow talking to her looks like.. Oh ConnieJ That ' s Teddy Graves. You must remember him in our last year of high school, when we won the Class E Championship. He ' s taking over the position of high school coach since Mr. Flynn took over the position of Assistant Principal. Well,if it isn ' t Joan Caron and Natalie Houseman. Did you know that they were still working hand in hand in the Stitch - em - up - Good Hospital in Bellingham under the direction of the head nurse, Carolyn Bruce ? That ' s right, and Carolyn is under the supervision of Dr. Robert Tessier,a major surgeon in the same hospital. Oh there ' s a beautiful sports car pulling up. ' ho do you suppose is in it? It looks like Donnie Godin, Jane Lambert, and Bob McDonnell. Jane is noted as a Sports Car Dealer who is always giving her customers a good ride. She handles all of Donnie ' s creations, and Bob is her top mechanic. That car is a very pood example of Donnie ' s work. Speaking of good work, did you read about Ray Le- febvre in the paper last week? He just came back from Daytona Beach, Florida where he won the All- American Motorcycle race. Yes, I read about it in the Cherry Times. Speak¬ ing of the Times, isn ' t that Normand Trudeau that just walked in? 4 j uil4t 7 ) I Lorraine: Connie: Lorraine: Connie: Lorraine : Connie : Lorraine : Connie : Lorraine : Connie : Lorraine: Connie: Lorraine: Connie : Lorraine : Connie: Yes, that ' s he. He ' s the Editor-in-Chief of the Tines. He always was one for publicizing things. Her come Sheila Thayer and Brenda Canestrari. They also just returned from Paris with Priscilla. They surely do a good job of modeling the wonder¬ ful fashions that Priscilla designs. Well, here come two very familiar faces, Barbara Glockner and Judy Nason. Barbara just came back aboard the Bellingham Jet 100 from Africa. Then Judy must have flown in with her because the last I heard she was leading Ray Borowski on a Big Game Hunt in the Northern portion of the con¬ tinent. Here comes Ray now. He was Big Game Hunting for Lions, but only got the cubs.I hope he doesn ' t worry too much. They ' 11 grow up. That ' s Dick Ambler over there isn ' t it? Yes, the one with Lucille Millette, Dick has become a very important engineer in the field of Guided Missiles, and Lou, his private secretary is always with him. That ' s right too • I remember reading about that, just a few days ago. They just sent another Guided Missile up to the moon with a dog in it which was not approved by Florence Couture. Yes, since Florence became head of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to animals, people will think twice before they send another animal out into space without her consent. There ' s Carol Lemon over there! She hasrft changed a bit. Did you know she was a Veterinarian at the Poundville Hospital ? She has done remarkably well for herself. There ' s Dorothy Lewinsky, who use to be very good in Shorthand and Typing. Now she is putting both of them to very good use as a court stenographer under the direction of Judge Wallace Neely. He would surely be lost without her help. Did you know that Ray LeBlanc owns his own radio studio now in Bellingham? The call letters are W.B.H.S. He always use to be good at spinning records at all our dances and during lunch time, too. I always thought he wanted to be a teacher.Speaking of teachers,Diana Crooks and Clemence St. Germain just walked in. They are both teaching at B.H.S. now, and they say it ' s just like it was before. Did you see Norma Cook? I thought I saw her come in, but I wasn ' t sure. Yes, she ' s here along with Jeannette Belanger. They are both telephone operators in toe Bellingham Tel. Tel. The experience we all had in our senior year must have helped them in their present posi¬ tions • That ' s Alan Roy over there, isn ' t it?He certainly has come a long way from composing our Class Song to writing Top Tunes of ' 68. Lorraine: Connie : Lorraine: Connie : Lorraine: Connie: Lorraine: Connie: Lorraine: Connie: Lorraine: Connie: Lorraine: Connie: Alan sure has what it takes. Isn’t that Carol Chilson with him? She has also become very famous as an artist. She just came back from Washington where she completed her third portrait of the presi¬ dent . Oh, look who’s here I It’s Jean Dalpe and Claire Belanger. Jean has become world famous as a psy¬ chiatrist and Claire has become Vice-President of the Bellingham Savings Bank. After three years of handling our class money, it must have heloed her get where she is today. Isn ' t that Charles Olbrys? He’s become noted as the King of Calypso. Since he owns his own band, he is really well-known. And there ' s the King of Kings now, Ray Cloutier, better know as Romano Ray to his audiences. His latest picture Lost Rockets will premiere some¬ times next month in Russia. Lorraine, isn ' t that Janet CrambY I understand she swam the English Channel for the sixth conseo- utive time, last week, breaking all past records. Remember Louise Lanowy? She owns her own Hat shop in France which she calls The House of Feathers’.’ Rachel Beauregard also owns her own shop, but hers is a little different. Liking small things she opened a Tops Toddlers store, for her own pleasure, in Birmingham, Alaska. Let me see are we all here? No, there is still one more guest to arrive.First of all though, Connie, tell me just what you have been doing with yourself. Well, you know just how much I always wanted to be a Dentist. Now I have my own office with Pauline Gladu as my receptionist. What about you Lorraine ? I always did like to re-arrange furniture at borne, along with color schemes, so I am now in business for myself. I call my business Lorry’s Interior Decorating . Say, look who just came in the doorJ It’s Freddy Fielder. He was just appointed President of the Stop and Shop in Medfield. Their home office is now in Bellingham. Well, we have all progressed so well in the last ten years; let us all hope that ten years from to¬ day we shall have attained even greater success and fulfilled all our goals.
