A Town Within a Town 1964 Dragon Presented by the Senior Class of Bellflower Township High School Bellflower, Illinois Foreword Life is made sweet because of friends we have made, And the things which in common we share. We want to live on not because of ourselves, But because of the people who care. It's a giving and doing for somebody else-- On that all life's splendor depends, And the best of this life, when we have summed it all up, Are found in the making of friends. Dedication We, the staff, proudly dedicate this yearbook to Mrs. Ellen Mears, an outstanding citi zen who has given much of her time and consideration to the community of Bellflower. She has provided us, the students of BTHS, with many good times and activities. W will always remember her loving kindness and her many thoughtful acts. if 1' ,1 qggiw? March, D. Warsaw, B. Bright, A. A. Welch Student Council Sponsors Homecoming Hats off to the Student Council for its excel- lent work in sponsoring BTHS' first homecoming. Various activities were held throughout the week. Monday was Hobo Day: Mike Wallace and De- anna Collins were named the best boy and girl hobo. On Tuesday, School Color Day was held, and on Wednesday it was Mr. Irresistible Day. At the end of that day Dave Kurtz received the title of Mr. Irresistible. Dress-up Day was Thurs- day, and Slacks Day was observed Friday. Saturday night, after the Fisher-Bellflower game, a semi-formal dance was held in the high school gym. A monstrous, green Dragon which was devouring a poor, defenseless Bunnie sat at one end of the dance floor. The Larry Gnagey Band of Mahomet played for the dance, which was climaxed by the coronation of Homecoming King and Queen, Kenny Hendren and June Arndt. Other activities sponsored by the council were five square dances, profits of which were shared with the classes, and the student council supper. Kathy Lykins and Diana Fisk attended the State Student Council Convention held in Chicago. HOMECOMING COURT: M. Wallace, Freshman: D. War- saw, Sophomore: G. Lykins, Junior: R.
