He is an all-around athlete and a pal nd good sport among his friends. More than once he made the winning score for Bell- flower Christian High, In all his high school years he played bas- ketball and, during the last three, he played football too, and we must not leave out the last two hard-playing years of baseball! His plans for the fu- ture are indefinite but as long as Dwayne is around there will be to do. gif! -r-r'1'l JO ANN KRUIDHOF 'Short and Sweet Jo Ann, our smallest senior, re- ceived all her education at Bell- flower Christian. Her pleasant and radiant smiles have been cheering to all who have known her. For three years she sang in the Glee Club and in her sopho- more year she was an active member of the Delta Gamma Club. As a junior, she partici- pated in the Junior Play. This year she played on the girls' basketball and volleyball teams, and was a member of the G.A.A. during her junior and senior years. Her ambition is to secure an office or banking po- sition, ,Y LEWIS MENSONIDES He's a friend to both work and' play. Lewis, known to most of us as Louey, came to Bellflower Christian High from the Nether- lands two years ago. He soon had many friends in his newly adopted country because he has a quick wit and is always ready for fun ancl a good time. Al- though he misses school quite often, he usually comes out with top grades. He claims that the schools in Holland are much more difficult and homework more plentiful. HERMINA DOUMA Personality, skill and ambition -the formula for success. Hermina, Herman's twin, is an- other one of our twelve-year stu- dents, although she was gone for part of her first year. Her athletic ability made her a pop- ular member of the volleyball team for three years and the G.A.A. for two years. Her sing- ing talents were used in the Glee Club for four years. While presi- dent of the Dionysians, she ac- quired the leading part in the successful Junior Play. Her abil- ity to type won her a position on both the Gazette and Cru- sader Staff. She intends to be- come an efficient office secretary after graduation. ,Wi O1 Q srl' Q . K .gm K' f ' Q i ,B Q X4' '13 A BARBARA ENGELHARD Full of fun and fancy free. Barbara came to us from Fre- mont School in Los Angeles and attended this school eight years. She is very interested in all ac- tivities and carries out her re- sponsibilities well. She was on the baseball team for three years, the basketball team for two years, and the volleyball team for two years. She sang in the Glee Club during all her high school years. During her iunior year she became a member of the Dionysians Club and Ga- zette Staff, and was an active and interested member of the G.A.A. for the past two years. Her plans for the future are in- definite, although she may at- tend college. -it CORNIE GOEDHA'RT Young fellows will be young fellows. Because he was always co-op- erative and attentive in class, Cornie was one of our more highly respected members. He was a member of the Glee Club during all four years and played his trumpet in the band for two years. During his sophomore year he played B Basketball, then played A Basketball during his iunior and senior years. Baseball was another of the ac- tivities in which he took part during his last two years. Cornie plans to follow in his father's footsteps in the future and be- come u successful dairyman. 'W

'1 HARRY PRlNS His deeds are greater than his words. Harry, one of our more reserved seniors, attended our school for eight years. He came from the Netherlands, where he had at- tended a Christian School. He used his abilities to sing by be- coming a member of the Glee Club for his last three years of high school. While a sopho- more, he ioined the Photography Club,and performed as a mem- ber of the cast in the Junior Play while in his third year. After graduation he plans to at- tend an agricultural school or become a member of the armed forces of our country. . SX JANE PRINS Kindness ha s irresistible charm. Jane came to us as an immi- grant from the Netherlands three years ago. She ca me as a stranger to our school, but soon accustomed herself to her new American home. She has become a well-liked member of the sen- ior class of Bellflower Christian. She is quiet but has a heart of gold. As a member of the Class of Fifty-five, she has served well whenever asked to be on a committee. During her junior and senior years she was a member of the G.A.A. Her ambition is to be a registered nurse. all - L - . S. 1 N1 BETTY REITSMA One in a million. Betty attended Bellflower Chris- tian for twelve years. She has been a real friend to all who have made her acquaintance. During her sophomore year she was vice-president of her class. As a iunior, she was literary ed- itor of the Crusader Staff and sang in the Glee Club during both her sophomore and iunior years. She held the position of class secretary while in her iun- ior and senior years. Betty was also in the Forensic Club as a iunior and the G.A.A. as a iunior and senior.
