'26 ,Y PHYLUS DE JONG RAMONA DE VELDER HERMAN DOUMA There is no substitute for the genuine. Phyllis attended Bellflower Christian since the first grade and has been a real benefit to our class. As a freshman she was a member of the Crusaders Gazette Staff and volleyball team. While a sophomore she was on the Photography Club. She was president of the Sewing Club and a member of the G.A.A. during her third and fourth years of high school. As a senior she was class treasurer, G.A.A. secretary, and a member of the Annual Staff. She also went out for basketball and vol- leyball. She took the College- Preparatory Course, but her plans for the future are not defi- nite. Talk and laughter play an im- portant part in her life. Ramona, one of our twelve-yeah students, was a real favorite of our class. Besides going out for nearly all the sports, she has been a real asset to the Class of Fifty-five. During her freshman year she was president of her class and was on the Crusader's Gazette Staff. She sang in the Glee Club during the first two years of her high school career. As a member of the G,A.A. she served on several committees and worked hard to make each activity a success. She plans to work in a bank after graduation and later become a housewife. p 'R s.- X .... ...wi-.L Mm.: ' ff ' 'Q School is a necessary evil. Herman, well known to both teachers and fellow students for his inclinations toward all things musical and mischievous, at- tended Bellflower Christian for a little more than eleven years. During that time he took part in many activities. He was a mem- ber of the Male Quartet, the Band, and the Glee Club for all four years. He has made good use of his musical abilities and all have enioyed his singing and playing. When a junior, he served as class treasurer and played well his role in Seven- teenth Summer as the father of a happy family. A T-i ,

, , 'X 7, -w., C.. r MARIANNE BOUMA A girl with a smile is a girl worth while. Marianne, a girl with a sweet personality, attended Bellflower Christian for eleven years. She has been a source of pleasure to her class with a friendly word and smile for everyone. Being interested in sports, she was on the volleyball team as a fresh- man and junior, on the baseball team when a junior, and the bas- ketball team as a senior. She sang in the Glee Club her first two high-school years. She be- longed to the Home Economics Club and Sewing Club. She was also with G.A.A. for two years. Her plans for the future are in- definite. IRMA JEAN BROEKEMA She's gentle and she's shy, still theres mischief in her eye. Irma Jean came to our school from Bozeman, Montana, and spent just her senior year with us. A comparatively new stu- dent to' Bellflower Christian, she is rather quiet, but we suspect she really is as full of fun as the rest. When you come to know her, you will discover her wil- lingness and ability to work hard. She is always reliable and cooperative. Her favorite pas- times are rollerskating and rid- ing-in motorboats, that is. She has done real well as a member of the Glee Club and as a mem- ber ofthe G.A.A. also. Her arn- bition is to secure an office or bank position. t.?- 'N r . i . x ...J SHARON BROE RSMA Here I am, you lucky people. Sharon, a mischievous blonde, is well known and well liked by all her classmates. Because of her pleasing personality she ac- quired many friends. She at- tended our school for twelve years. As a freshman she joined the Delta Gamma Club, as a sopho- more she became a member of the Gazette Staff, and as a jun- ior she belonged tothe Forensic Club. Her performance in the Junior Play will be well remem- bered. She sang in the Glee Club for the last three years and readily participated in the activi- ties of the G.A.A. for the past two years. Her plans for the fu- ture are indefinite. ,A-. 5
