ADERS We ve Got The Beat Although many of the Jr High cheer- leaders have cheered for youth football, this was their first year to cheer for a high school team. There was a slight case of the jitters before their first game, but the squad performed ami- ably. The girls task was to get the bas- ketball team and the fans fired up, which they successfully achieved. Be- sides cheering at games, the squad also made spirit tags for the team to help create enthusiasm and recognition. We've Got Spirit 6.2 This year's freshman squad was cho- sen in March of 1982. The girls were judged in various categories such as ap- pearance, precision, and the quality of their voices. The squad started practic- ing in the summer twice a week. All the hard work paid off when they helped lead the freshman football team to a conference championship. Their job didn't stop there for it was on to basket- ball where they rooted for the freshman team, which had a winning season. Mary Emmerich and Kathy Sorrell are fighting their way to a victory. Members of the freshman squad let it loose during their warm up.
