Cheer For The Tigers Enthusiasm, cooperation, and patrio- tism towards a school is what makes a successful cheerleading squad. This year's varsity squad definitely showed these characteristics. They took the first step towards a successful year when they attended cheerleading camp in July at Ohio State University. Dur- ing their stay at camp, hours were spent learning cheers to bring back to the Bel- levue crowds. This year cheerleading tryouts were held again for basketball to expand the squad and Shelley Hasse was chosen as a new member. Besides cheering at games, the squad hosted and competed in the 35th District Cheerleading Competition. Bellevue's six member squad took first place, which earned them a spot in the Re- gional Competition. M. Hasse, K. Gaining Experience The 1982-83 Jr. High Basketball team finished their season with a 5-10 record. During the regular season the boys lost some close contests with St. Joseph and Cline Middle School, but also celebrated double victories over Dayton and Southgate. In their tourna- ment game the team suffered a loss to Holmes. Although the team didn't fin- ish the season with a winning record, these young Tigers gained invaluable experience that will prove to be helpful in the future.
