Hard Work Pays Off Along with Coaches Hart and Akers, this year's freshmen squad geared up for the season just in front of them. The young freshmen started the year with rival Dayton, and the win of 12 to 6 was just a premonition of their future. With the Ludlow and Beechwood games nearing, the Tigers practiced vigorously and won both by a wide margin. On the second turn, Dayton's defense proved to be a challengeg however, the Tigers managed to win 13 to 0. With one of their fullbacks injured, Ludlow also could not hold the Tigers from a victory of 35 to 8. The season ended 5 wins and 0 losses, but the championship game with Beechwood remained to se- cure a perfect season. Despite the fact that Beechwood scored a touchdown early in the 1st quarter, the Tigers produced 6 points late in the 2nd quarter. The Tigers, after a halftime speech from Coaches Hart and Akers, came from the locker room ready for action. In the 3rd and 4th quarters, the Tiger defense held Beechwood from scoring, and the of- fense masterfully made a touchdown to end the game 12 to 8.
