ARCHI G BA Uncontested Winners The 1982-83 Marching Tiger Band took the first step to a successful season by attending Eastern Kentucky Uni- versity for band camp. While at camp the band worked tediously to improve themselves in all around performance. The band traveled as far as Winchester, Kentucky to compete in six different contests. The band's success was high- lighted when fifteen members were named to the 1983 Edition of Who's Who in Music. These members includ- ed: M. Babin, T. Carson, C. Glancy, T. Hart, M. Hasse, L. Johnson, D. Klein, J. Loerich, T. Stanfield, B. Welch, T. Wever, A. Whalen, D. Witt, and K. Knox. Much of the band's success was accredited to the new band director, Mr. David Webber. Marching Band Awards Anderson County Band Contest - 2nd place, and Best Percussion Kentucky State Fair Band Contest - 5th place George Rogers Clark Band Contest - 3rd place, Best Field Commander, and Best Flags Mason County Band Contest - 3rd place, Best Field Commander, Best Flags, and Best Percussion Tates Creek Band Contest - 3rd place, and Best Percussion l The percussion section starts the beat for the band during half-time entertainment ss, Field Commander, Jill Campbell, leads the band through a winning half-time performance. Name That Tune Besides the marching band, Bellevue High also has another talented trio of bands. One is the Pep band. The Pep Band plays at all the home basketball games and this year was the first time tryouts were held to select the members. Another band is the Concert band. The Concert Band played a variety of music that was satisfying to all those who attended their events. The other band is the Stage band. Stage Band members sacrificed their Wednesday nights to perfect their musical skills for the performances with the concert band. 46 0 Bands Jr. High members sharpen their musical skills.
