Even though they defeated Silver Grove and Dayton once, their biggest victory wasn't until the first round of the Dis- trict Tournament where the Tigers fought hard to capture a win over New- port Catholic, 5-4. The team lost to Newport in the second round of the tournament which left them as run- ners-up in the District. From here it was on to the Regional Tournament, where the Tigers met with a loss to Campbell County. Individuals who received awards were Sean Wikle, highest batting aver- age, and Doug Miller best defensive player and most valuable player. Baseball 0 93

With just under half the roster composed of junior high players, and a schedule laden with 9 AAA and AAAA opponents of a total of 13 matches, the Tigers could muster but one win throughout the season. Bellevue did meet with some success at the regional tournament, with Russ Neises and the doubles team of Ken Miskell and Jeff Gauspohl advancing to the second round before being defeated. For their efforts, Russ was awarded the Roger Klein Trophy, and Dan Linkugel the Robert Griffen Scholarship, an award given to the tennis player who maintains the highest grade point aver- age.
