Students in Action y cooperating with other clubs, Student Council provided some new and enthusiastically received projects. The Spirit Scholarship Fund, traditionally associated solely with Student Council, became a school wide project. Student Council still contributed heavily to the cause with the Mr, and Mrs. Santa Claus Contest, won by Mr. Stidham and Ms. Winkler. Sadie Hawkins Day, held in conjunction with B-Club, featured a mass wedding ceremony of over forty Dogpatch couples. Unfortunately, the Sadie Hawkins dance was cancelled due to 8 inches of unexpected snow. In April, five pro athletes visited Bellevue at the request of Student Council, to promote the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. These athletes met several of Bellevue's best athletes in a variety of fun-oriented contests. Student Council also continued its well-established projects. Homecoming, complete with floats, banners, and a dance, was a resounding success. The candy sale, held in February, served as Student Council's chief fund raiser. Basketball Homecoming enlivened an otherwise dead time of year. Student Council concluded its calendar with its annual banquet at Grandview School.
