Seniors Honored at Basketball Homecoming Highlighted by the crowning of the royal court and by an exciting game with Conner, Basketball Homecoming was held on the night of February 8 at the Ben Flora Gym. On the Thursday preceding the game, seventh through twelfth grade students voted for the 12 senior candidates, who had been selected by the boys' and girls' varsity basketball teams. At halftime, 1979 King and Queen Joe Norman and Mary Lloyd presented the new honors. Paula Kappes and Todd Hardy were crowned Queen and King. Selected as first attendants were Laurie Schuett and Mike Liska. Kelli Mclntosh and Bill Pelgen completed the court as second attendants. Thanks to Student Council, who sponsored the festivities, Bellevue students were admitted to the game free of charge. They were treated to an exciting contest in which the Tigers lead early, only to fall in the closing minutes by the score of 61-49.
