Third Chemistry Club The increased emphasis being placed by govern- ment and industry upon the teaching of science has helped to focus attention on high school chemistry and to make students realize the extremely vital part it plays in the curriculum. Culp, D. Ernst. B. Iones. Student Council, which is made up of class officers of grades seven through twelve, meets once each week with the principal to discuss school problems and plan activities. Suggestions, plans, and various announcements are then taken back to Home Room groups the following morning during class meetings. Reading Club An excerpt from the Constitution of the Reading Club sets iorth its purpose as follows: The Bellevue High School Reading Club shall have as its immediate purpose, the fostering of good reading habits with the ultimate purpose of providing through Above. Seated: Iudy Trotter, Pat Georgi, Miss Giles, Standing: Bonnie Lind, lackie Sasse, loy Tyrrell, Helen Fields, lanice Setters, Brenda Euller, Donna Trunnel, Each year Miss Nelva Giles, librarian, selects a group of students who assist her by delivering library notices, checking attendance, typing, collecting fines and by helping to keep the library neat and attractive. The entire student body enjoys Corning to the library and utilizing its excellent facilities. reading, a profitable use of leisure time throughout the life ot its members, by developing an ability and a desire to read for instruction, information, appreciation and entertainment.
