y-A Rifle Club Interest in the Rifle Club never seems .to lag at Bellevue High, regardless of the many demands made upon the students' time and attention by other activities and part-time iobs. Every other Saturday morning finds an enthusiastic group of sharpshooters on hand in the gym for target practice. The Rifle Club, which is affiliated with the National Rifle Association, teaches safety in the use of firearms and tries to develop per- severance and attention to detail along with good marksmanship. A tournament is held each year for club members and awards are available for all those who meet the require- ments of a prescribed course. Rifle Club officers are Ron Gossett, presi- dent: Lanny Pemberton, vice president, Don Meyer, secretary, Ken Weber, treasurer and Mr. Ioe Kohler, Faculty Sponsor. Below: These marksmen get set for a little target prac- tice. n U- is f .t...f t i no Above: Results are checked at the other end to see just how accurate the first marks- men really were. Lett: Mr. Kohler instructs Ruth Neal and Elizabeth Cotting- ham in the proper technique for cleaning a rifle.
