TIGERS 0N THE llAllINYO0D The Bellevue baskeieers opened the sea- son with three returning lettermen, Tom Oualey, Ellis Lang and Pat Uebel. Both the team and Coach Ben Flora looked forward to a good year. The Tigers started out with a road trip and won their first game at Bardstown and then traveled to Frankfort where they lost a hard fought game. The team then began a six game winning streak beating Williamstown, Silver Grove, Walton, Highlands, Beechwood and Dayton, the tra- ditional arch-rival. This victory brought the record to seven wins and one loss. After the Dayton game came the holi- days and in the first game of the New Year the Tigers lost to Newport. This was the beginning of a losing streak with losses to Holmes, Lloyd, Ludlow, Dayton, Frankfort and Newport. Most of these games were close, however, and well played. The Tigers then made a comeback and won a hard game from the strong Simon Kenton team. After this game the Tigers traveled to Alex- andria where they lost to Campbell County. Tom Qualey and Ellis Lang will be lost by graduation, but with the rest of the squad retuning, the Tigers are looking forward next year to a fine season.
