as SENIOR CLASS WILL As it is the custom of all old people to make a will, it is also the custom of a class to make a will when it reaches its matured age. This, the senior class of 1948, is truly nearing its death, and it is not dying from any particular disease. It has just reached the age in its life when it is not advisable for it to exist any longer. So this, the will of the senior class, must be fully drawn up and executed. We, the seniors, Poppy Bell, Flo Reba Dean, Bettie Rater, Onita Evans, Bernice Thompson, Billy Sweazea, Cliver Gill, Jack Moore, Florine Loveall, Bertie Sue Wetsel, Raymond Stracner, Ruby Reaves, Wendel Mayo, L. D. Barnett, and Nhurine Wetsel, have entered into this will solemnly, seriously, and conscientiously. First, we are bequeathing our individual gifts or personalities which of course, are gifts to be desired by most anyone. Very few people in the world are as gifted, and talented in many respects as we fifteen seniors, and we fully realize that we are being very kind indeed to leave such valuable gifts. Now L. D. Barnett, who happens to be the first on our roll. leaves his dashing and winning ways with the girls to Lester Allen. Lester, we hope that this will make you as happy in life as it has L. D. Then Oliver Gill, the masculinebrains of the class, very gladly leaves all of his athletic ability to Nelson McCord. We shall expect great things from you, Nelson, after receiving this wonderful gift. Poppy Bell, the most popular girl in our class, wills her even temper to Nhrgie Cox. Now Margie, we feel that you may now be able to control your temper better, and also that you will always be pleased and happy with everything as Poppy has always been. Wendel Mayo, Billy Sweazea's cousin and shadow, leaves his ability to make an A card each six weeks to Marvin Tyson. Now Marvin, all your worries are over since you have been bequeathed such talent. Flo Reba Dean, the only senior girl with red hair, leaves a big chew of chewing gum in the southwest left-hand corner of her bookkeeping desk to Pearl Phrris. Pearl, this gum is not yours unless you begin chewing it immediately upon finding it. Maurine Wetsel, the class beauty, leaves her ability to never for- get or to lose anything to Frances Lawler. Frances, we trust that you will never lose your glasses again now. Raymond Stracner, the senior boy with so many names, leaves his penmanship ability to Bryan Spivey. Good luck Bryan for never again will your writing be questioned. Z

Lela Mitchell was our history teacher. Our seniors in the freshman class were: Oliver, Wendell, Jack, Billy, Raymond, Poppy, Flo Reba, Florine, Bettie, Naurine, and Bertie Sue. We had much fun, and thought that we were very clever in putting so many things by the teachers. And the sophomore year! Thank goodness! We were no longer fresh- men. This year we had Mr. R. W. Sweeney, Mr. J. F. Harper, Mr. R. A. Burk, and Mr. Lee Alexander. Mr. Alexander left before school was out and Mr. T. J. Roper took his place. We had many activities and much fun during our sophomore year. Our seniors who were sophomores are: Oliver, Wendell, Jack, Billy, Poppy, Flo Reba, Florine, Bettie, Ruby, Bernice, Bertie Sue. and Maurine. And then juniors! C11 what a thrill! We were juniors with the follow- ing enrollment: Lonnie Joe Allen, Harold Brown, Cecil Coker, Oliver Gill, Chester Liggett, Wendell Mayo, Jack Moore, Raymond Stracner, Billy Sweazea, Poppy Bell, Flo Reba Dean, Ann Howard, Florine Loveall, Bettie Rater, Ruby Reaves, Bernice Thompson, Betty Jo Walker, Christine Wells, Bertie Sue Wetsel, Naurine Wetsel, :Ieanetta Wood, Ima Jean Vann, Evelyn Mitchell and Chita Evans. Harold, Lonnie Joe. Cecil, Chester, Ann, Christine, Ieanetta, and Evelyn withdrew before we completed our junior year. Our teachers were Mr. Lee Powell, Mrs. Leo Reaves, Mr. Ancel Newman, and Mrs. Frank Brown. Mrs. Brown was our sponsor, we thought that we were very successful with our play, Dotty and Daffy , and also with our banquet in Wichita Falls. When we entered as seniors, there were sixteen of us, L. D. Barnett. who came from Seymour, Oliver Gill, Wendell Mayo, Jack Moore, Raymond Stracner, Billy Sweazea, Poppy Bell, Flo Reba Dean. Onita Evans, Bettie Rater, Ruby Reaves, Bernice Thompson, Betty Io Walker, Bertie Sue Wet- sel, Florine Loveall, and Nnurine Wetsel. Betty ,Io Walker went only a few months: therefore, we were left with our fifteen graduates. We had a lot of fun presenting The Daffy Dills and In Again, Out Again. And then we felt that our sponsoring the annual was certainly a brave undertaking. Our teachers as seniors were Mr. Lee Powell. Mr. W. M. Roberts, Mrs. Leo Reaves, Miss Betsy Ball, Mrs. Frank Brown. Again Mrs. Brown was our sponsor. ' Our school life was a pleasure. and also a burden too. Many days were enjoyable ones, and many days were trying ones. So you see jack, Billy, and Flo Reba were our only graduates who began in the first grade together and completed their school life in this school.
