-- -,r 1:-nflsmng-qua: nm HISTORY CF THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1948 Way back in the dark ages of September, 1937, began the school his- tory of the Bellevue Senior Class of 1948. On this early day in Sept- ember, 1937, the following little boys and girls were really up bright and early to be dressed in their prettiest togs , and to be enrolled on the first round of their educational tour: Glen I-hrrison, Abb Miller, Jr., Jack Moore, Philip McKee. Jim North, Marvin Tyson, Narvin Bruce Priddy, Billy Sweazea, Raymond Stracner, Flo Reba Dean, Naxine Munkers, Bernice Thompson, Dovie Wetsel, ln Rue Spears, and Miram North. So you see these included five of our graduates who are Jack. Billy, Raymond Bernice, and Flo Reba. Luckily we were all promoted. and my! how thrilled we were to get our report cards and be promoted to grade two. By the way, our first grade teacher was Miss Virginia Gaines. When school opened the next September in 1938, we entered as full- fledged second graders feel ing very superior, indeed, to the first graders. Upon being enrolled the first day, we found that we had lost La Rue Spears, and had gained the following: Kenneth Colvin. Oliver Gill Robert Nichols, Wayne Randolph. Barney Spikes, Marie Graham, Vilma Starnes, Nkxurine Wetsel, and Mildred Johnson. Mrs. Lela Mitchell was our second grade teacher. When school was out that year, a few class- mates were not promoted with us, who were: Philip McKee, Jim North, Marvin Bruce Priddy, Mxrie Graham, and Miram North. So here are our graduates today leaving grade two: Oliver, Jack, Billy, Raymond, Flo Reba, Bernice, and Maurine. Now just think a third grader! This certainly made us very anxious for September 11, 1939 to come. We entered school this year with Miss Mxurine Goodwin as our teacher. The new additions to our class this time included Lonnie Jo Allen, Cbrald Braggs, Lois Simons, Pbrshel Tay- lor, john Burton Gill. Gene Gore, Luther Coker, Evelyn Mitchell, Bertie Sue Wetsel, Wyneth Lee Wetsel, and Manell May. Now this time we were all promoted except Gerald Braggs, Kenneth Colvin, Mildred Johnson, and Mzxine Munkres. However, Wyneth lee Wetsel attended school only a short time. So at the end of the third year in school we find the following 1948 graduates: Oliver, Jack, Billy. Flo Reba, Bernice, Bertie Sue, and Nhurine.
