SENIORS' CHRISTMAS PARTY Q1 Decedser 18. 1947 a happy group of fifteen seniors, their class brother and sister, and their sponsor met for the last time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Thompson to celebrate a much remembered Christ s together. The guests were met at the door by Bernice Thompson.and di- rected into the lovely living room where a beautiful Christms tree was laden with gifts for each and every senior. Of course. the high light of the party was Santa and the Christmas tree, but for quite some time before the gifts were passed out. games of various kinds were played. Black Magic . a game which tested your understanding ability, amused the jovial group for some time. And final- ly. but oh so very slowly. all the intelligent seniors saw the light of Black mQ.i.C. And then the anti-climax of the partyl A Santa Claus game was con- ducted. Bach person was given some information concerning a misplaced Glristmas stocking. After reading the instructions. if each could find the hidden stocking, it was his. This stocking was filled with fruit, nuts, candy. and chewing gum which would certainly delight anyone. This was such an interesting game., and created so much fun and excitement. And naw the climax. Santa came! No first grade pupil could have been more thrilled than each one of this happy party when Santa read his name. The seniors were certainly generous boys and girls. for they gave their sponsor. Mrs. Frank Brown. a beautiful Sheaffer's pen and pencil set, their class father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson, a lovely table lamp, and their class brother and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gill. twin table lamps. It seemed that everyone there had really been good. for Santa saw that each one was remembered. After Santa's departure. tasty refreshments were served to the fol- lowing: Onita Evans, Bettie Rater. Ruby Reaves. L. D. Barnett, Jack Moore. Poppy Bell. Mxurine Wetsel. Bernice Thompson. Billy Sweazea. Hay- mona Stracner, Florine Loveall, Oliver Gill, Wendell Mxyo, Flo Reba Dean Bertie Sue Wetsel, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gill. Mrs. Frank Brown. and Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Thompson. Again the seniors said, Thanks a million for truly another lovely party, Mr. and Mrs. Thompson.

Therefore, the senior candidate, Mzurine Wetsel was crowned Queen with the King, L. D. Barnett, declaring her as such. All the other Dukes and Duchesses were the Queen's attendants. The following enjoyable program was presented in honor of Queen Maurine Wetsel who made a lovely Queen. Introduction Song - Kay O'Neil, Betty Taylor, Mary Tucker, Mary Johnson, Darlene Gill, and Geneva Nk:Gee. Radio Announcement of the Queen and Her Attendants - Billy Sweazea. Processional - Mrs. Rex Davis with Poppy Bell and Flo Reba Dean as Heralds announcing all attendants who were: Jane Gill and George Blackman Velma Sinnons and Donald Hay Cook Pearl Harris and Wayne Barnett Doris Ann Sullenger and Charles Nayo Ann Davis and Nelson McCord Crown Bearer - Wayne Dean Train Bearers - Jean Webb and Nnry Jameson Tap Dance - Nhry Beth Frerking Song - Put on Your Old Gray Bonnet Yvonne Clark, Darlene Gill, Peggy Johnson, Margie Heaves, Betty Wetsel, Jane Knight. Tap Dance - Karen Terry Accordion Solo - Ann Davis Vocal Music - Doris Ann Sullenger Tap Dance - Patricia Frerking Recessional - Mrs. Hex Davis This was truly a lovely coronation, and each one departed for his respective home with a feeling of gratitude for each and every one who had helped the school in any way on this October 31, 1947. And there was also a feeling of satisfaction in knowing that again the Bellevue Public School had passed another annual celebration in a successful way which is certainly a credit to any school.
