Kennedy CLASS SONG Here's where we begin To tell the story of how great these years have been. Dear Bellevue High School, please remember now and then This class who through your doors Walked time and time again. Here's where we start. As a looking glass, This day will now reflect our memories of the past - The times we laughed and cried and strove to do our best. The Class of Seventy-One makes this its last request: Remember us Remember Us And how our knowledge grew. We've done so much t Yet there's much more to do. We must go out into the world And share what we have learned To help our brothers. Let's all join hands With one another. We'l1 take time to live and time to love. Here our story ends. The past is past and now tomorrow's in the air. The future's bright with hope - an answer to our prayer. The time has come to leave, and now we must prepare To say good-bye. fWords by Karen Scanetti, sung to the tune of Theme from Love Storynb Active Life Of Graduates Of '71 AVIS ADAMS: Class Play 15 FHA 1,2,3,45 BGCA 2,3,45 Pep Club 2,3,45 GAA 1,45 Intra- murals 2,3,45 Freshman Choir5 Band 1,25 Vari- ety Show 15 Special Music Ensembles 1,2. An athlete has the scholastic ability and general capability to maintain a position on the team. No matter what sport he plays in, the athlete must exemplify these qualities along with good sports- manship. The advantages are great, not only does he learn to get along with his fellow man but he also makes a prominent background for himself, for the college years, or Whatever vocation he chooses. Here he moves the pigskin as he 'breaks through a powerful Avon Lake. Redmen Shower Power Against Bucyrus Although the 1971 Bellevue Redmen Football team lacked a lit- tle luster on the winning side, they shone with never-ending spirit to define exactly what the word, Pride, means. This was best exemplified in the Bellevue-Bucyrus game, where although Bucy- rus was rated Number One in the State, our fighting Redmen held them to the end in a close loss of 13-6. Our most triumphant victo- ry was over the favored Shelby Rams. The gridions came home ahead with a score of 7-0 for the first Bellevue win over the Shelby team in many years. The Redmen finished 5th in the N.O.L. Even though a 4-6 record seems disappointing, the Bellevue Redmen obtained 3 top-notch positions on the All N.O.L. team. Don Didion was named top middle guard for the second year in a row, Bill Cramer gained All-Star honors at the end position as did Redmen Co-Captain, Gary Woodruff, at guard. The annual football banquet was held in the middle of Novem- ber to honor the Redmen's top players. Admist impressive speech- es, four boys stood in the spotlight. Dave Richards received the Most Valuable Offensive and Defensive Back Award, having prov- en himself a great asset to the whole team. Ed Hartzell received the Ted Sberna Award, which constitutes the most determined player. Don Didion was awarded the Most Valuable Defensive Lineman as Bruce Roth was on the offensive side. BELOW Co-Captain Don Seymour gains valuable yardage as he searches for a hole in the defensive line. ctijw - Af. 5 521 v ,' ' . . Y . But they did manage 2 victories that broke 2 long losing streaks, and gave such area and N. O. L. powerhouses as Margaretta, Tiffin Col., and Galion some tough bat- tles before surrendering. Pitcher Gary Woodruff was credited with both the Redmen wins, one of them a 5-0 triumph over Shelby. Their record doesn't indicate much hope for the future, but the Redmen went from a 12-0 loss on opening day to that victory over Shelby in the season finale. Over half the squad is underclassmen, and so the outlook for the coming seasons could be brighter than one might think. - N ' SZ: fp- ' 511255. ' . r-.i V .IAV I . , 4 A.,y .Ev E .
