Stoldt Breaks Rushing Records Even with the disappointing 3-6 record, there were many bright spots on this year's Redmen team. Co- captain Craig Stoldt broke several rushing records. Stoldt's value to the Redmen team can be seen by his receiving The Most Valuable Player award and The Most Valuable Back award. Stoldt shared his duties with Co-captain Bill Koch. All N.O.L. middle guard, D. Didion, spearheaded the defensive team, which was one of the better units in the league. R. Sieger, who received N.O.L. honorable mention, helped anchor the unit. The coaching staff was headed by Coach Lowell Shaffer. He and his assistants gave much effort to the 1969 Redmen squad. Throughout the season, the team displayed determi- nation and spirit. The Redmen were a young team as the squad contained only a dozen seniors. The les- sons learned and experience gained this year will be a tremendous factor for next year's returning Redmen.

1969 OL I5 Tough - The disappointing 3-6 record compiled by this year's football team does not truly portray the type of sea- son the Redmen had. They played steady ball, but seldom came up with the big play, while their oppo- nents seemed to get the best breaks. One of the bright spots was the 18-0 victory over Willard. A Homecoming triumph over Norwalk was another highlight. The defensive team displayed its strength by holding state ranked Shelby to 14 points. The Redmen finished Sth in the N.O.L.
