The authentic, old-fashioned costumes added much to the show. This year's Junior Class Play, pres- ented on November I8 and 19, was directed by Mr. Hakes. S. Bellard and C. Schueler acted as student directors. 'AFM Chills plus thrills were the two major elements of this year's Senior Class play Sky High. The program was presented May I2 and l3. Action took place at o skiing lodge, Sky High, where a group of college students were marooned because of a cave-in. All went well until they discov- ered that the lodge was being used as secret headquarters for a group of spies. This play was directed by Miss Buffing- ton. Student directors were B. Limber and L. Unml and 0 Wlviea, The Bellevue Mixed Choir, conducted by Mr. John E. Everson, has sung itself out for another year by closing more programs than any other vocal group. Opening the music year was the Armed Forces Day Service in which the choir sang a group of patriotic songs. Next, the choir had the happy task of closing the Christmas as- sembly and thus opening Christmas vacation! Came spring and two important concert dates: the B. H. S. Spring Choral-Orchestra Concert and the N. O. L. Choral Festival held in Upper Sandusky on April l. When B. H. S. held open house on April 26, the Choir presented a twenty-minute program. The Choir's last performance was at Baccalau- reate with the senior members of the Choir appearing in their graduation gowns. 0 Extra curricular activities included a trip to Ohio Wesleyan University for the High School Music Festival on February 5, and the Mixed Choir party on May l4. Choir officers for the year were: L. Meyer, President, N. Moore, Vice-President, E. Foos, Secretary-Treasurer. The orchestra presented short programs be- fore the Junior Play and the Christmas assem- bly. The B. H. S. formal spring concert in- cluded the orchestra. Bellevue played host to the invitational Northern Ohio League Orch- estra Festival. Other appearances of orchestra members included: the Senior Play, National Honor Society Assembly, Baccalaureate, and Com- mencement. MEMBERS: L. Andrews, L. Haynes, J. Cum- mins, S. Tetirick, J. The Bellevue High School bands, under the able direction of Mr. Duane Corbett, had a very successful season this year. At the football and basketball games the band always had unique songs and steps that brought rousing cheers from the audience and kept the morale of the players zooming. The Indian Maids also performed at the football games in their red slacks and white sweaters. Majorettes Carol Schueler, Suzanne Weekley, Jeanette Wing, Margo Billiard, and Karen Edwards donned new capes for their appear- ances with the band. Drum major Dickie Heyman, the Major- ettes, and the Pep Band offered spectacular entertainment during half-time at basketball games. The annual Symphonic Band Concert, held March 25, featured George Woodard as stu- dent director directing famous Strauss melo- dies. Curtis Crews played a sousaphone solo entitled Pomposo. Other songs helping to make the program successful were The Signet March, composed by Duane Corbett, Gun Smoke, and famous Glenn Miller songs. The members of the Marching Band also belong to the Symphonic Band. The major and major- ettes play instruments in the Symphonic Band. After the concert there was a dance at which the B. H. S. Dance Band provided music. The Bellevue High School band participated in the N. O. L. Band Festival at Tiffin. The band played Silver Springs Overture, Am- ericans We, and Trumpet Boogie. During December, fifteen students went to Chicago to the eighth annual Midwest Na- tional Band Clinic. They stayed at the luxur- ious Hotel Sherman. The students heard some of the best music at the nation's largest band clinic. fnncalzt, and, J. Langwell, J. Walker, M. Didion, K. Edwards, D. Frost, T. Hasselboch, L. Moyer, P. Sanders B. Adams, J.
