Conant Bancl Under the able direction of Duane Corbett, the BHS band this year had a most success- ful season. The red and white marching unit was led by majorette, Jo Sberna. Many unus- ual marching formations were inaugurated this year which consisted of precision drill combined with dance steps and fancy march- ing. This 8l-piece band entertained at the football contests and the programs were re- ceived with hearty ovations from the specta- i'OI'S. The band also contributed much toward making the annual concert a success. It was at this entertainment that Eugene Wynbissin- ger made his appearance as student director. He ably directed the band selections Gay Vienna March and Waves of the Danube . The high school's own dance band, The Bell Boys, played for the dance following the concert. Previously the band had played at the athletic banquet. Duane Corbett handles the piano for the orchestra with George Wood- ard on trumpet, David Stedman, drum, Dick Edwards, alto sax, and Michael Straziuso on the tenor sax. Mr. Corbett makes all arrange- ments for the young musicians.
