“What? Hobo Day? People dress like this every dayl Hobo Day became more enthusiastic when additional people were involved Spanish Club proved you With the recent demolition of the court¬ house and the termination of the Lettermens Club, Student Council took on the task of revising Hobo Day and ensuring its success. For the first time, the five Miss Maroon candidates were chosen by the senior class instead of through the traditional Lettermen s Club nominations. The entire student body then made the final selection of Miss Ma¬ roon. The junior class sponsored all of the election procedures. For the first time, Miss Maroon was crowned at the Hobo Day assembly, allow¬ ing the whole student body to witness the coronation ceremony. This added excitement and suspense to the day’s activities. For the first time, the parade route was changed and ended at the West Main and Third Street parking lot. A platform was set up, upon which Mr. Turner announced the winners of the class and mini-float competi¬ tion. The sophomores won with “Bam Bam the Flyers” and the Spanish Club with “Sniff Out the Fivers.” Displaying beauty inwardly and outwardly, Janice Hennigs exemplifies all-around school spirit as Miss Maroon.
