Misery is . . . catching pneumonia after going to the Loyalty Week bonfire and not being able to go to the Loyalty Week dance. telling some juicy gossip about someone and discovering she’s right behind you and you don’t know if she heard you. knowing she heard you. having the best part in your class skit and getting laryngitis the day before the skit. dropping your mid-semester term paper (due that day) in a water puddle. handing over forty pennies for lunch on Friday. having your algebra teacher ask you a hard question and then having a smart-mouthed freshman answer it before you can open your mouth. getting sick on your little sister’s Halloween candy. catching your hair on the chair and having to sit for fifty minutes without moving. sitting in front of some men from the opposing side at the football games. trying to get through the gym lobby after assemblies. Ind Fair Seasons The underclassmen basketball earns, eclipsed by the shadow of the arsity and junior varsity, turned in fair record nearing the end of their espective seasons. The freshmen inished with a 7-11 record with wo games to go and the sophomores losed with a 4-11 record with two ;ames left. The freshmen Lancers were coach- d by Mr. Larry Patton who also oaches varsity baseball and teaches nath. Starters for the freshmen were ay Ellison, Tom Kastens, Howard Vlileur, Randy Neff, Jerry Neu- )erg, Tom Sisoian and Kenny aughn. Also playing for the frosh vere Paul Blum, Mark Carwell, Dary Cox, Rick Dalan, Bruce Dun- ling, Brad Ehinger, Mark Graham, 3ud Jacob, Dennis Jenkins, Doug VlcCoy, Doug Weil and Jim White. Unknown to some students, the ;ophomore Lancers had a new coach eading them through the season. Physical education teacher Mr. Nor- nan Fink is the new coach. Starters : or the sophomores throughout the ear were Brad Harriman, Mike Lan- on, Jerry Neuberg, Skip Uhl, Ken- ly Vaughn and Chuck Witt. Also playing for the sophomores were Walter Barnes, Rich Grumley, Tom Helfriech, Gary Penn, Pete Pharos, A1 Viele, A1 Wunderlich and Don Zalders. Underclassmen also played a role n varsity and junior varsity basket¬ ball. Sophomore Brad Harriman and reshman Dale Haverman started on he junior varsity squad and dressed varsity.
