MR, PAUL BENDER, Principal To the Class of 1967 - Congratulations! Commencement is the parodoxical end that begins many things. You are concluding twelve years of formal training to enter the informal school of life. During school and plays were called by those in positions of responsibility for the consequences of those plays, however good or ill the out- come. You are now stepping into a position where you may call some plays in life. You too bear responsibility for the outcome of each play that you call. Graduation is a milestone that symbolizes your mastery of basic skills and your understanding of life's principles. These gifts were not created by you but were given for you to discover the Creator's purpose for them. The world will demand efficient disposition of all that is within you. Life is a constant struggle not only for survival, but for arrival. Seek not the good life through leisure, but through struggle. Battles are never won on the sidelines but on the field. Do not scorn hard work: it brings satisfaction to the body and honor to the soul. Face the challenge of life with a certainty of worthwhile motives and goals. May you be used to help the world face its God. Above all be strong and courageous. Let every motive, thought and act become a sacrament of worship that the world may know the great I AM, Live each day with meaning and purpose as examples of youthful dedication. It is in this committ- ment to Him that life has meaning both here and hereafter.
