Our thanks to our teach- ers for their part in molding our lives for Christ - this cannot be ex- pressed in words. In presenting this book we, the graduates of '61, are trying to show our appreciation to those who have made our education possible. Now let's turn the pages and see who makes up the faculty and studentsg also, let's see some ofthe activities. John 13:35 On Sunday afternoon, Sept. ll, 1960, we met with saddened hearts to pay our last respects to I. EDWIN YODER. He attended school with us for a little over I1 years. His unexpected departure re- minded us that it is he fGodj that hath made us and not we ourselves O LOVE THAT WILL NOT LET ME GO O Love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in thee: I give thee back the life I owe, That in thine ocean depths its flow May richer, fuller be. O Light that followest all my way, I yield my flickering torch to thee: My heart restores its borrowed ray, That in thy sunshine's glow, its day May brighter, fairer be. O Cross that liftest up my head, I dare not ask to hide from thee: I lay in dust life's glory dead, And from the ground there blossoms red Life that shall endless be. REMEMBER - The Christ-centered education provided you - may it be applied with its resources. REGARD - May the ethics of Christian education determine the choices and goals of our lives. RESPONSIBILITY - As graduates you now play an important role in the church, the community and the world. REWAR.D - Eternal life, the gift of God, far exceeds any adverse situation we encounter in this life. The world stands in need of men and women who are prepared to assume these aspects in life. May you fill this need. The foregoing message was the experience of Enos Peachey who answered the call of God to his Eternal reward. He showed his interest and concern in the program of the church by assuming the work before him with integrity. His life and influence leaves a positive impression on our school. His faithfulness as a member of the Board of Trustees is sensed by all. Trennis S. As the conductor's voice cut into my dreams, I realized that this was my stop. A few hours later I was ushered into a beautiful reception room where the second reunion of the Class of '61 was to be held. As I entered I was greeted by the host, none other than Harold. He informed me that he was teaching at L.M.S. I had arrived earlyg so, I found an inconspicuous seat in order that I could watch the guests arrive. Ron Yoder, as usual, was the first to arrive. During his conversa- tion with the host, I learned the reason for the stained appearance of his hands - he was a mechanic. This conversation was interrupted by the entrance of Lavina and Rachel. Rachel exclaimed to Ron, Isn't Lavina's Florida tan becoming? Lavina countered quickly, You may be tied down to office duties, but that's quite a limousine you're driving. When all were assembled, the ladies sextet sang. Two of them, Ruby Byler and Julia, were back from their work with the Mexicans. Farm life had given Ruby Yoder and Jane a hardy appearance. Darlis's teaching experiences gave her a look of patience. Kathleen, the owner of a nurse's cap, was home from social work. At the back of the room, I heard Ron Kanagy and Sanford arguing which profession brought the most profit - farming or the business world. Herman, being a store clerk, sided with Sanford. Meanwhile Omar was asking Roy, Roy, would you have time to repair my egg truck tomorrow? I'm quite busy this time of year, but I think I can do it tomorrow, promised Roy. Towards the end of the evening, I overheard two housewives, Mary Grace and Sara, discussing babysitters. I had heard earlier in the evening that Sara was enjoying, country life to the fullest and that Mary Grace was the immaculate housekeeper we always expected her to be. Returning home, I thought over the events of the evening before. l-low the class had changed! Some seemed to have a more serious outlook on life while others were as nonchalant as ever. Some had gained ounces noticeably while others managed to stay slim. The evening had been a very enjoyable one, but something seemed to be missing without Rosa who was in Africa doing mission work.
