L1 r E W THE SENIOR CLASS OF I 960 PRESENTS THE KISH-O-VALE E APHER UEHPX A MOTHER'S PRAYER Dear teacher, I am sending you Our little Tom and Nancy Lou. Their journey now of life's begun - They know not else but childish fun . . They know not what a school is for, Nor what is taught behind its door. So Teacher dear, guide them aright That they may win in life's long fight. Teach them all knowledge of the school - But more, to keep the Golden Rule. - Violet Thomas Hartmann Compliments Of: THE BELLEVILLE TIMES BIG VALLEY'S OWN NEWSPAPER 0 0 C ALMA MATER How can I leave thee, How can I from thee roam, To some new distant home, Dear B. M. S. Thou hast my loyalty, A guide shall thy Precepts be, Ever in memory, Dear B. M. S. DR. GEORGE E. WORTMAN DR. NELLIE R. WORTMAN Chiropractors DEDICATIG We, the senior class of 1960, dedicate this yearbook to you, Miss Elizabeth Frye, in appreciation of your help in laying the foundations for our education by coming to B. M. S. twelve years ago to start us on the path of our formal education. We sincerely thank you for the contribution you have made to each of our lives in the nine years you have given to B. M. S. B. M. S. ALUMNI AT E. M.C. I FGREWORD , l The beginning of life is a small, rippling stream. Our parents and teachers help to guide our small canoe around any stones we may meiet. As the stream becomes wider and wilder, we advance to a larger boat. To steer the larger boat over the rapids and hidden rocks, we need more knowledge and skill. Other small streams join the larger one until it becomes a bwide, deep river flowing steadily to the sea. To navigate the turbulent waters and huge waves on the sea, a larger, stronger ship and increased knowledge is necessary. We must constantly refuel on this journey of life to be able to meet the new challenges. Unforeseen problems and difficulties arise on the sea of life, but with Christ as our Chief Pilot to show us each dangerous shoal and reef, we can conquer them. Our easily attained desires have become far-off goals which require great effort to reach, just as the horizons of the sea have widened from the close boundaries of the stream. In school at B. M. S. , we gain a very essential part of the training necessary for the direction of our ship. In this book we are presenting ,to you a glimpse of our school life. BIG VALLEY FEED Sa GRAIN CO. l EDITOR'S LETTER ff! It has been a pleasure arranging this picture of life at B. M. S. for you. We hope you will find the same kind of pleasure in paging through our book. The yearbook staff would like to thank you - the administration, the faculty, the students, and the pauons - for your help in putting our yearbook together. Your support has been greatly appreciated. The youth oftoday prepare for the tasks of life which lie ahead. Each experi- ence takes us further into the sea of life. The richest blessings and greatest rewards are those we receive as we obey the commands of Christ. As we follow the path of Christ, by his grace, tempests are stilled, fears subdued, and we cast our anchor safely in his care. Trennis S. King President BOARD CF EDLICATIO LEFT TO RIGHT: John D. God has placed before each of you the possibility of a purposeful happy life as you follow His will. Through Christ He has opened the door to the abun- dant life. Never to intend the best is a calamity and wasted potential. Strive for the truth. Set your goals high. Life is too serious to waste foolishly or to squander selfishly. And in your drive to grasp success remember this, God will evaluate success some day. RUSSEL NATIONAL BANK OF LEWISTOWN During the past twelve years of your formal education many decisions were made for you. You probably couldn't always ap- preciate this situation. You enjoy making your own decisions. You want to use the ideas and abilities God has given you. Therefore allow me to throw out this chal- lenge to you as your high school days be- come history, and you look forward to taking on new responsibilities and making many more of your own decisions. Choose you this day whom ye will serve. Re- member, To whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey.
