THE SOPHOMORES The One Way You may hope, you may scheme- You may plan--you may dream, Of ways to make money, my lad- And maybe you're clever, But, Lad, you will never Succeed without working. As a means to your end, You may lean on a friend, A man who has plenty of pelf , And who's a first-rater- But sooner or later-W You'Il find you must lean on yourself! There is nothing that's new That l'm telling you, But that doesn't alter the case. For down thru the ages, Through life in all stages, The Workers have led in the race! So, I say to you, Boy, If you plan to enjoy The pleasures that money can bring, You never will do it, Unless you go to itw And Work till you win it By jing , C. S. Kennison. 24
