Senior Senate At a Meeting. LL ABOARD! Bound for the Senior Senate meeting. Then each mem- ber, loaded down with baggage and full of ideas for money-making schemes, answers the call and is on his way to Room 302 for the weekly meeting of the homeroom representatives to discuss class problems and affairs. Robert Kimble as chief redcap leads the group and does a good job. This body is composed of two representatives from every senior homeroom elected by the students. These senators in turn bring back a report to their respective rooms after each meeting. The secretary also posts her weekly minutes on the senior bulletin board for those who like to refer to them. 'vi id- ll er 4 32? l-led Unvl rnviin , Q QU, X l A 7 i THE TRAIN DF EVENTS T was way back in September i938 that a group of very expectant boys and girls first climbed aboard the Knowledge Limited . Our journey was quite out of the ordinary though, for it was one of finding facts and gaining knowledge. At approximately 8:30 a.m., Mr. Kittle-our chief engineer- gave the all-aboard signal and we chugged off for the great realm of the unknown. Naturally we were a little green at first, but being a bright, intelligent group it didn't take us long at all to get onto the track of things. We didn't lose much time in getting acquainted with our fellow passengers either. As we gained momentum we found the need for an executive group. These we duly elected as: president, Shirley Fritsch, vice-president, Donald Cocks, secretary, Doris Eleder, and treasurer, June Skinner. Miss Louise Carrell and Mr. Norman Cotter acted as our very efficient class conductors. As we headed down the track, the Christmas season arrived before we had realized it. With great glee we prepared to sponsor our very first dance. As for class spirit-we were overflowing with it. Naturally our Christmas dance was a great success, and for weeks afterwards we gloated over our tremendous profit. We pushed on full steam ahead. Winter passed into spring. The warm, balmy weather curbed our desire somewhat for knowledge. However, we found many relaxing moments to take in all the scenery. Then in the latter part of June we bid sorrowful farewells to the senior passengers. We had passed our first milestone with flying colors and now we sat back for a time to prepare ourselves afresh for the ordeal of conquer- ing our second milestone. Our vacation fairly flew by, and with the arrival of September came the reappearance of those all too-familiar books. But somehow we felt different, we were now experienced travelers with a definite air of self-confidence. Again we held election and this year we elected as president, Robert Kimble, vice-president, John Higgins, secretary, Charlotte Barborg and treasurer, Donald Cocks. The Misses Myrle Allen, Olga Nelson and Blanche McDonald were our advisers.
