One of the class of 1983's choices for an individual to dedicate our yearbook to is Mrs. Charlotte Richmond She is a graduate of Union Academy of Belleville in 1959. During her high school years Mrs. Richmond was very active in school activities Her post-high school education included a semester of work at Oswego State. Mrs. Richmond started work at Belleville Central School in 1968 4

IN MEMORIAM W. William Whitley December 28, 1934 — November 5, 1982 Mr William Whitley, was born and raised in the town of Ellisburg. In 1952, he graduated from Belleville Central School and then attended Cornell University for two years. After college Bill returned to Ellisburg to assist his father in operating the family farm. For a short time he worked in restaurants in Adams Center and Ithaca as an assistant cook and as a manager, respectively, after which Bill returned to the farm and purchased it in 1959. He con- tinued running the family farm until 1974 when he then became Postmaster of Ellisburg, a post he held until his retirement in the summer of 1982. Mr Whitley, also, held a number of positions in various organizations in the communities of Ellisburg, Belleville, and Adams He has been recognized as an honorable member of the Belleville Central School Board and of the Union Academy of Belleville board of trustees Mr William Whitley, was a dear and respected friend to many in the community and will be long remembered for his kindness and courage throughout his illness. Bill's cheerful ways are missed by all who knew him and the graduating class of 1983 would like to offer our sincere regrets to his family and friends.

A second individual that the class of 1983 has decided to dedi- cate the yearbook to is Mrs. Elaine Streeter. Mrs. Streeter is a 1973 graduate of Belleville Central School. For further education, Mrs. Streeter enrolled in Mt. Ida Junior College for fine arts and then later transferred to Oswego State to major in Elementary Education Mrs Streeter started work at Belleville Central School in 1977 and is presently employed as the elementary and high school art teacher The Senior class of 1983 wishes to express its appreciation for the work that both Mrs Streeter and Mrs Richmond have done not only for the class of 1983, but for the school as a whole 5
