Mr Berger was a resident of Long Island until he moved to Adams in 1979 when he start- ed teaching here at Belleville He graduated from Oswego College in 1976 with a degree in Industrial Arts and Driver Education Our class feels particularly grateful to Mr Berger for having enough patience when he at- tempted to teach us how to drive. We thank you, Mr Berger for having a sense of humor through some of the hairiest situ- ations you were put through When we think back on our last years at UAB, we will do so in deep appreciation for all he has done for us. IN MEMORIAM CHRISTINA PRESLEY (1963-1972) In 1972, our class was saddened by the death of Christina Presley, a near and dear friend as well as a member of the Class of 1981. Chris- tina enjoyed being a Brownie in the Girl Scouts and was an active member of the Woodville Congregational Church. Throughout her illness, Christina remained a cheerful person with an unconquerable zest for life. It is to this day that our class grieves. We shall always miss Christina dearly, but she will be an inspiration to us all. ADMINISTRATION FACULTY BOARD OF EDUCATION I 1st row Mrs Ioanna I Moore. Mrs Edith H Curtiss. President. By the time we became Freshmen in the fall of 1977 we discovered that other things were more fun Our class advisors were Mrs. LaLonde and Mrs. Smith. Our first money making project was a record hop which was a success. The following year we became Sophomores, our advisors were Mr Bingle and Mr Coons and we held another successful record hop In our junior year, our advisors were Mr Berger and Mrs Willis We ordered our class rings Our money making projects included two record hops and selling refreshments at the home basketball games Finally, as Seniors our advisors are Mr Arno and Mr Shevalier We held a dance with a local group called Lindsay Creek.'' Following that was another successful dance with a group called Glyder . Under the di- rection of Mr Arno we put on Rest Assured” as our senior play. It netted us $733.53. As our thoughts are turned toward graduation, we are busily filing college applications, preparing for jobs, worrying about making money for caps and gowns, and of course partying After our graduation, we can't help but look back at all the hard work and fun times we had in high school When the going gets rough in life all we ll have to think about is the memories of teachers and friends at U.A.B. and what 57 kids in the fall of 1968 consid- ered fun . . A feud starts between the fa- thers, but it appears over when Luigi's heart gives out. However, Luigi gets permission to come back and haunt Mr Morlock until he okays the wedding. All the family think Mr. Morlock's lost his few remaining marbles when they see him out there talking to himself. (Luigi's visible only to Morlock and the audience, of course.) So in his despair, he accidentally takes too many sleeping pills and kicks the bucket. But this doesn't end it all, because Mr. Morlock and Luigi say they won't rest in peace until matters are settled to both of their satisfactions. However, Lucifer from down-below drops in to take Mr. Morlock to the lower regions. And to top it all off, life goes on in the Morlock home as if nothing's happened. No one misses him. Now Morlock realizes what a heel he's been and wishes for an- other chance. If only - Then he awakens from his dream. He didn't die and neither did Luigi. So a very reformed Mr. Morlock approves the wedding, and peace finally reigns at the Morloctc's. SENIOR PLAY CLASS MOTTO Look to this day. The Class of 1981 If only being were enough. Instead of being big and tough. We spend our years trying our best. Striving to pass the final test. We work, we play, we do o.k.. Ignoring the fact that someday We will make our mark on this place Without the aid of frills and lace. But rather by being just ourselves. Holly Herron The time has come to say good-bye To the Senior class of Belleville High Their memories will linger in the halls In the future springs, winters, and falls. It's a sad moment when they depart. But we know next year there'll be another start And again someday we'll be saying all of this, But it will be others that we'll miss. Vicki Carter 80
