Better perhaps than we are.” The Brothers Karamazov Class Colors: Red Black Class Flower: CLASS HISTORY We, the class of 1980 entered the halls of UAB in the fall of 77. Many of us soon became involved in sports and other activities We had our first money- making project, which was a record hop with Mr McLear and Mr. Jones as our advisors. The following year Mrs Keck and Mrs Willis advised our class We had another record hop which was a real success. Our junior year was met by Miss Docteur and Mr Shevalier and many deci- sions were brought with it. In February our long-awaited class rings arrived. We changed companies and styles and were very pleased with them Along with a record hop, we had a local band. Lindsey Creek , play at our first dance We earned money by selling refreshments at several of the basketball games. In the fall of 79, we were set into action with the taking of the Senior Portraits. We then turned our thoughts to raising money and we put our ef- forts into our Senior Play, The Odds Are Against You We made $350 Many of us were also kept busy filling out college applications and were involved in taking ACT and SAT tests. We held two successful record hops and a dance We ordered our announcements and our caps and gowns, turning our thoughts to graduation As the year comes to an end, it is a time for parties and things to remember After graduation we know we will always look back at the great memories we all shared, but we will always look ahead to the future 6
