% From the Senior Class of Belleville Central School Belleville, New York THE TRA VELER Ho looks to the sky to find himself. The wondering of life and all its wealth Searching and looking is all he knows. Knowledge and wisdom in the wind it blows. He drops his eyes to the ground to gaze. His thoughts are muddled and in a haze. The earth appears with much awe and simplicity. But he must look at the horizon, beyond the city. The people he meets are all the same, the faces are familiar showing all the pain. Dependence on living is all a need. Reaching and discovering on which we feed Previous experiences will soon be lost. The meaning of life has its cost. Yearning to turn back to find the past. But. the traveler must go on to be free at last! Mr McLear was a native of Tupper Lake and graduated from Tupper Lake High School After serving in the armed forces, he attended Albany State University graduating in 1957 with an AB degree Mr McLear did post graduate work in Albany, Potsdam. Cornell and St Lawrence Uni- versities. His first teaching job began in September of 1957 here in Belleville He has always been active in helping with Student Council, Proms, and the 100 Club, which raises money for scholarships His tireless efforts on behalf of past graduates has not gone unnoticed or unappreciated Thanks Mr McLear—What would we have done without you?! 0861 SSVJJ Class Rings: And even if we are occupied with important things Even if we attain honor or fall into misfortune still let us remember how good it was once here, When we were all together, United by a good and kind feeling which made us ... Better perhaps than we are.” The Brothers Karamazov Class Colors: Red Black Class Flower: CLASS HISTORY We, the class of 1980 entered the halls of UAB in the fall of 77. Many of us soon became involved in sports and other activities We had our first money- making project, which was a record hop with Mr McLear and Mr. Jones as our advisors. The following year Mrs Keck and Mrs Willis advised our class We had another record hop which was a real success. Our junior year was met by Miss Docteur and Mr Shevalier and many deci- sions were brought with it. In February our long-awaited class rings arrived. We changed companies and styles and were very pleased with them Along with a record hop, we had a local band. Lindsey Creek , play at our first dance We earned money by selling refreshments at several of the basketball games. In the fall of 79, we were set into action with the taking of the Senior Portraits. We then turned our thoughts to raising money and we put our ef- forts into our Senior Play, The Odds Are Against You We made $350 Many of us were also kept busy filling out college applications and were involved in taking ACT and SAT tests. We held two successful record hops and a dance We ordered our announcements and our caps and gowns, turning our thoughts to graduation As the year comes to an end, it is a time for parties and things to remember After graduation we know we will always look back at the great memories we all shared, but we will always look ahead to the future 6 SENIOR OFFICERS President—Judy Greene Treasurer—Bonnie LaVere 7 Secretary—Starr Veley 4-Ol.hx, jlLuJ nia C faimo- Vice President—Mary Eastman (■ 7 c C. The play was cen- tered around two grandmothers who couldn't seem to keep themselves out of trouble. They wanted to earn some money to build an addition onto their house, since the whole family lived together. They decided to buy a race horse costing $20,000, little did they know who they bought it from. They ran into trouble with a gangster and his hoodlums and had all sorts of problems. However, everything seemed to work out. It proved successful and received many compliments from the audience both nights. It netted the class $350 and it marked Mrs. Smith's 14th year of directing the Senior Play. The class owes her and the custodial staff a debt of gratitude. 24 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT I, Sandy Abbott, will and bequeath to: Jeff S. and Lori L. — I leave you a chauffeur's license, and thanks for all the memories and fun. A meeting was held BEFORE the celebration to review the success of each individ- ual, here are the minutes to that meeting: Ann Smith wanted to own her own bar. Big Rose and Jim gave her her own crow bar for X-mas just this year. Norm Cobb's secret ambition was to become wealthy and live in a castle in California Norm's new address is Disneyland, Cinderella's castle, he lives in the dungeon by nights and sells frozen banannas by days Mary Hanus desired to become successful and live a peaceful life, her new title is Mother Mary . Jay Fulkerson dreamed of passing English and Physics; only five years later and he's touring the country giving speeches on the grammatical aspects to the Hydrogen bombs secret plans. Reiner Kelder was secretly very ambitious. He wanted a big house, a big car, and a big yacht while living in the Pacific. Reiner resides in a Hawaiian boat house where he parks his Volkswagon on his own ferry. Julie Parks wanted to race horses after she graduated, most of you see Julie weekly on the P C races. Laurie Worthington asked only for a full tank of gas to satisfy her ambition, after marrying an Arabian, her tank is overflowing and he's got her over the barrel. Jeff Stockwell was ambitious for one special desire, to put Coach Baker on the black line with a whistle and a stop watch; however after Jeff graduated. Coach Baker was never seen again Lori Langworthy hoped of playing soccer with Pete and the boys. She fit right in with the Rowdies and put a new meaning to the phrase kick in the grass. Anne Eastman headed for Florida right after graduation and when they say the accent is on comfort it's southern style. Starr Veley wanted to find Mr Right and share the Right Bank Account. She always loved the idea of sharing especially after marrying Mr Marine Midland himself. Tracey Cobb secretly desired to join the rodeo. She is still out West horsing around. Merrilee Taylor became a famous crater by going over Niagra Falls in an orange crate, fortunately, she wore her life preserver. 32 CLASS PROPHECY Judy Greene is presently employed by Glenn Miller at the Palace Theater in N.Y.C. Their famous duet is Judy. Judy, come play your horn. Chris Henry wanted to be better than Elvis, in fact he always gets a great audience response when he starts singing Aint Nothing But a Hound Dog. Jeff Dickinson's secret ambition was to settle down and start his own family. Many people think he may create his own Baby Boom of the '80s Pam Millard ambiguously wanted to become a model and fashion designer Today she is one of New York City's Finest? Richard Bulluck, Mary Eastman, Ernie Eveleigh and Kathy Smith all wanted to own their own cars; while Jeff Cough wanted to run a tycoon business. Jeff is the president of Belleville Motors and Mary, Ernie and Kathy all own their own dealerships and Richard Bulluck has his own special fast car division. Sandy Abbott desired to grow up and fill Mom's shoes. She was recently cited by Fisher-Price for Bus Driver of the Year. Mark Sugden wanted to party his brains away, but first he became a brain surgeon to get those free replacements. Jim Vann dreamed of shattering backboards in Belleville, he still tries after reading the How To Do book by Darrell Dawkins. Pat Frawley wanted to become an all-star coach. He has got his own team in the big dipper They're in the Star Tree League and Pat has finally reached stardom. Paula Burley's ambition was to someday have a secret ambition. Today she is employed by a special psychologist to help people decide on their ambitions, yet she still doesn't have her own Penny Hutchinson wished to move from Belleville for good She now resides in Adams and visits regularly when she gets homesick. Bonnie LaVere only asked one thing—to graduate from BCS. At graduation Flora took her picture and Bonnie had it blown up poster size and it hangs over her mantel. Atta girl, Bonnie. Mary Lee wanted to own a CB and talk to the truckers. Well, it took them some time to get a handle on her, but today she is known as The CB Annie of Belleville. 33 Row 1 _ Cough J., Simpson C, Burley B„ Dack T„ Davis K., Row 2 Fowler A., Melien S., Brown J.
