Keprinlcd by permission of Cazenovia College. Cazenovia. New York Dedication The Class of’75 is proud to dedicate this edition of the Tower to Miss Shirley Rasbach. A resident of Hamilton, New York, she received her degree from Syracuse University and did post-graduate work at St. Lawrence University and Ithaca College. She began instruction of Physical Education at Union Academy in 1952. Much of her free time has been spent working with students in such activities as bowling, scouts, and cheerleading. This year she coached the girls’ basket- ball team to their third consecutive Frontier League. Division II Champion- ship with a perfect 7-0 league record. The team also went on to Section III, Class D-E tournament play and earned second place. One of the things that makes Ras different from just any coach is that she cares, and this is something that we will remember in our reminiscences of school days at UAB. RECOGNITION D. Shelmidine. B. Each wave a noble mirror with a million cracks daring me to defy its jinx and call myself a crusader of time. I see my Island with fruits and herbs and I yearn to hear the music of serfs and behold once Again the sorceror’s mystic ways The time passes ever so fast and I now know the serfs met this day were truly kings and the master sorceror a creature of Deceit. I sec my mosaic. I piece it together Day by Day and await the pagen's Fatal Ritual that shll not end until the earth moves No more. From this Port is the Sea. I now sail to face a massive desert alone But yet I have my Best Friend known to no other better than is known to me, MYSELF. At long last. Myself. Larry Gutierrez ’75 GRADUATION CLASS HISTORY 51 Freshmen entered Belleville in the fall of ’71. Many of us soon became involved in sports and many of our girls became cheerleaders. We had our first money-making project which was a record hop. Our Sophomore year came and we decided to attempt another moneymaking project so besides another record hop. we held a car wash. It was very successful and we had a lot of fun and the dryers in the Home Ec. room got a good workout from some of the girls, too. Our Junior year brought with it many decisions to make and our class had to really start pulling together. In February our long-awaited class rings arrived. We changed the style from square to oval and as if we hadn't waited long enough, some had to be sent back because they had defects. We held one dance, one record hop, sold bulletin boards, citris fruit, had a Dutch- maid party at Mary Jo's, and took our turn at the home basketball games. In the fall of '74, 45 Seniors entered the halls of UAB. Right away we were set into action with the taking of the Senior Portraits. We then turned our thoughts to raising money and we put our efforts into our Senior Play, “It’s Great to be Crazy . We made $585, (a school record), and set two more school records with our play; the largest attendance on the second night, and the biggest presale ($405). Many of us were also kept busy filling out college applications and were in- volved in taking Regents, ACT, and SAT tests. We soon found that this was not in vain since 6 of us won Regents Scholar- ships and 2 were chosen as alternates. We held 2 dances and decided to hold a Junior-Senior Prom, which hasn’t been held at Belleville for many years. We had good community support for this and hope it will continue at Belleville. As the year comes to an end and our thoughts turn to graduation, we leave a strong tradition, many friends, many mem- ories, and knowing we had a good start in life.
