It speaks of strength, of might, of power— •.•.Woodrow 2 DEDICATION It is an honor for the Class of 1959 to dedicate this annual to our School Nurse-Teacher who has devoted her life to the welfare of others. Cora M. Uememann graduated from Cape Vincent High School in 1927 and received her R. N. from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Watertown, in 1930. From Syracuse University, she received her B. S. Degree in Public Health Nursing in 19 and, later, she did her graduate study at New York University. Mrs. Laemnermann spent the years 19 -1950 with the New York State Education Department as Supervisor of School Nursing. She brought her wealth of experience and understanding to our school in 1952. Her record speaks for itself. Realizing her keen insight and exceptional ability, the Class of 19 9 wish to express their appreciation of her splen- did work in our school by dedicating The Tower of '59 to Mrs. Laernnemann. 3 BOARD OF EDUCATION First Row: Second Row: O. The houseful of assorted guests, with their problems, presented an evening of hilarious fun for all who witnessed it. Alford, HISTORY Thirty-two Freshmen members entered Mrs. Chapman's Homeroom. During the year, we lost: Roger Durham, Allen Towles, Charles Davis, Douglas Huffstater and Katherine Dennee. Our Sophomore year in Mrs. Bassett's Homeroom found twenty-six members, by our gaining Carl Moffett. Twenty-five Junior Members entered Mr. McLear's room including Ed Caster and Sid Moreton. March 28, we presented two-one-act plays: Jerry Breaks a Date and Mamma's Getting Married, (Xir Junior Prom with the Cinderella theme, took place in May. Velma Cornell and Dick Mull in, both seniors, were chosen Cinderella and Prince Charming. The plays netted us $344.10 and the Prom, over $101.44-making us a total of $445.54 to start our Senior finances. Twenty-two members entered Mrs. Eastman's Senior Homeroom. We had lost Ed Caster to the Coast Guard, John Aureli to Mannsville, John Tumbole to the Navy and Dave Clark to the Junior Room. We had one new member, Nancy Alford from Marcellus. In November, we presented our Senior Play, Mumbo Jumbo , a three-act Mystery Farce which netted us $402.92. We have permission to sell refreshments at all home games, to sponsor four movied and to promote four dances. (Xir first movie was scheduled for February 7th and our first dance, February 14th.
