After graduating from Syracuse University, Miss Rasbach Joined the faculty of Belleville Central in September, 1952. Summers of Camp Counseling and Gradu- ate Study have proven her capability. Her untiring service, here, speaks well for itself and has endeared her not only to our own students but to the entire North Country. Having graduated from Ithaca College in 1952, Mr. Sisson taught two years in Michigan before coming to Belleville in 1955 Under his able direction, our sports have steadily improved, and he has gained an enviable reputation. To show our gratitude, we are proud to dedicate this Tower to two such fine, deserving teachers. 3 Board Of Education Prin. To his prise, he ran across an article concerning the Class of 1958 which he clipped and sent to Mrs. Kastman. The letter was delivered by Keith Erickson in his Jet mail service to Mrs. Eastman now living in Florida enjoying her long-deserved retirement. From the clipping, she discovered that Floyd Kelsey was Master of Ceremonies of a TV quia program, on which Jerry Thomas and Maryhelen Whitley had won a world cruise. The boat on which they traveled was designed and owned by Tom Fayette, now a famous designer and builder. Upon boarding the boat, they were greeted by Captain Bob Young. The maid, Marjorie Zehr, showed them to their stateroom. Later, they were introduced to the Social Direc- tress, Janet Merrick, who assured them of a wonderful trip. While on deck, they ran into many old friends. Dana Redway, now a famous movie star, was traveling between pictures. Pat Gorton, the ship's stenographer, was as usual, on the Job. Velma Cornell was found on her way to France where she is to be Secretary to our foreign minister there. Every ship needs a doctor, and there was Frank Bickford diagnosing sunburns, while Charlotte Reggie, a nurse, was handing out seasick pills. When they complimented the steward on the delicious lunch, they discovered that it was planned and prepared by Roberta Soderholm, now a famous cateress. Crew members in- cluded Keith Hunter, Jim Dodge, and Ray Moon. Furnishing entertainment was the well-known singing team, Nancy Sprague and Pat Hinson. When annoyed by a dark, heavy-set man, they recognized Jim Matthews, now an F. B. I. agent, doing his spying legally. While inquiring about other classmates, the travelers learned that the Pickett Brothers, Bob and Ron, own and operate a dude ranch in California. Claude Rivett is known as an oil millionaire in Texas, and Bud Clark is making his fame as a big game hunter in Africa. On a stop in Hawaii, they found Betty 0111 and Bev Lewis, famous dancers, in a night club. Dick Mullin was found learning drum beats from the natives there for arrangements for his famous band. Two former classmates in his band are: Michael Flitcroft, piano player; and Jim Fulkerson, drummer. As Mr8. Eastman finished reading the article, she was very pleased at the success of each member of the Class of 1958 on attaining his proposed goal in life. 12 We, the Claes of 1958, being of sound mind and body, do hereby issue this, our last will and testament. We entered our freshman year with thirty-five students, Mrs, Chapman was our class advisor. During the year, Phyllis Kohl left our class while we gained Stanley Shepard, Douglas Huffstater, and Joyce Cooley, We gained from the eighth grade, in January 1955« Richard Hudson, Sidney Moreton, Dennis Williams, Shirley Fulkerson, Janet Merrick, and Barbara Tice, In September 1955 we had forty-three sophomores, who were divided into two homerooms, with Mrs, ssette and Mi4. Drake as class advisors. In February of that school year, Robert Golden Joined us, coming from Clayton. Stanley Shep- ard, Doris Hedger, and Peggy Mellen left, making our total forty-one class mem- bers at the end of the sophomore year. In the fall of 1956, we entered the Junior class with Mr. Greene as advisor to forty-three Junior students. On April 5, 1957, we presented two one-act plays entitled: Marriage Wcws and Quiet Home Wedding. We made $11 0.80, which was considered a very good profit. On May 17th, we had our Junior prom at which Dorothy Lewis and Keith Fuller, senior candidates, were elected king and queen. The theme for our prom was, Red Sails in the Sunset. We entered the senior class with thirty-five students. The class was di- vided into two divisions with Mrs. Eastman and Miss Nueifora as class advisors. During the first semester, we lost five of our members. On November 22nd and 23rd, we presented a three-act farce entitled, Aunt Litiie Lives It Up. This netted the class $1 57 25, which was an all time rec- ord of receipts in the history of Belleville. We are planning three more dances and two more movies, from which we hope to earn enough money to go on our trip in June, to which we are all looking for- ward. The play was written by Elsa Kalen and netted us the handsome sum of 59«25« When wealthy and eccentric spinster, Aunt Lizzie, swoops down on her pretty, young niece, Iynn Lowell, and insists that the latter accompany her on an ocean voyage aboard the liner Felicity, Aunt Lizzie doesn't know that Iynn is secretly married to handsome Hubbard Pilgrim and that the newlyweds are supposed to sail on the Felicity, occupying the bridal suite. Aunt Lizzie doesn't allow Iynn to talk to boys and poor Hubbard can't even communicate with his bride. Determined to outwit Aunt Lizzie, Hubbard buys an outfit of female attire from a maid on the ship, dons it and what happens to him as a result of his masquer- ade shouldn't happen to a dog. Aunt Lizzie falls overboard, almost drc ms, and is only rescued by the crew with a great deal of effort. This crisis in her life causes the wealthy spinster to turn over a new leaf, and she sets out to have fun and make up for lost time. The cast included: Maiyhelen Whitley, Charlotte Reggie, Bob Young, Janet Merrick, Frank Bickford, Marjorie Zehr, Dana Redway, David Hudson, Howard E. Clark, Beverly Lewis, James Matthews, Patricia Munson, Roberta Soder- holra, Jerry Thomas, and Keith Hunter. 37 Tower Staff TYPISTS Seniors V.Cornell Writers J.Merrick Juniors A.Barney PHOTOGRAPHY Seniors F Bickford Juniors J.Fayette EDITORS Seniors J.Thomas Juniors J.Eastman BUSINESS MANAGERS Seniors J•Matthews Juniors D.Clark 38 ART Seniores K.Hunter, T.Fayette Juniorss C.Mason, H.Chapman WW Bus Drivers i H.Richmond, R.Stoodley, A.Loomis, L.Matteson, A.Paver, K.Hodge, C.Eggleston, S.Hunter. 39 Class Of 1957 Melvin Bovea—----——----------------Student at Oswego State Teachers College Carolyn Brown--------------------- Student at Central City Business Institute Lawrence Clark--—-------------------- —--------------Harbor Builders Supply Harry Dowker——--------- —--------------------—-—————At Horae Keith Puller---------------------—-——Heavy Equipment School, South Carolina Morris Golden—--------------------------——-----------------—0 S.
