On the first day of July in 1975» Mrs. Eastman had a sudden urge to go out to see what her former class of 1954 had accomplished (if anything). Her first stop was in Syracuse where she was to board the train to New York City. While waiting, someone came up and said, Taxi Ma m? She turned around and found that it was Harold Hutchinson. Later that night she boarded the train. On the train she met Marilyn Tiff going back to Connecticut after spending a few days with her mother. Arriving in New York City, she visited Rena Brown, private secretary of Carl Erickson, a famous comedian on T. V. Tired from being shown around the city by Rena, she went to her hotel room to rest. She turned on her radio and heard The Pops On Top with d.J. Janet Durant. The next morning, while going to make plans for a plane trip, an accident occurred in the down town section. It was the famous stock car racer, Jim Joslyn, thinking he was still on the track. The ambulance arrived as she got there, and to Mrs. Eastman's surprise the nurse was Eleanor Eastman. The ambulance driver was Bill Green. Mrs. Eastman got her plane ticket to Hawaii. One of the first ones on the plane, she started to read the newspaper she had picked up on the way. She no- ticed the head lines which read. Woman Lawyer Solves Important Government Case. Beside the article was a picture of the lawyer whom she recognized as Joan Mullin. The airline hostess came out and said, Will you fasten your safety belts please? The voice sounded very familiar. She looked up and saw Beverly Lee. After they had been flying a while she heard a familiar voice ask, May I have a cup of coffee? She turned to see who it was and saw Luella Hedger. Come to find out she was on her way to Kentucky. The plane stopped for an hour in Kentucky. She there heard of the famous racing stables owned by Rena Hough. While talking together,Rena asked her if she had heard of the New Atomic experiment that had been conducted and told her that the scientist responsible was Dean Boshart. The plane then stopped in Texas for a couple days because of bad weather. So she stayed at one of the dude ranches near the airport. Who should be the proprietors of the ranch, but Hugh Nohle and Richard Dowker. Talking to them, she learned that this was one of the five big ranches they owned. She arrived in Hawaii about four days later. In Honolulu she, of course, had to see a Hawaiian show. Whom do you suppose she saw doing the dance? No one else but Beverly Davis I That day she thought it would be nice to spend an evening at the beach. Looking around she saw the familiar faces of Elinor Clark and John Cobb, who were on a belated honeymoon. She then took the plane to Alaska. Arriving there, she went in search of Carolyn Hudson and Jane Corron. She found Carolyn running a branch of the Meadowbrook, which was a very famous place. Jane Corron was working as a hat check girl. There, Mrs. Eastman saw Gerald Clark, to whom she talked and learned that he was a professional trapper in Alaska. After spending a few days there, she took a plane back to New Mexico to see if Marie Wetterhahn was still there. When she arrived in New Mexico, she hunted Marie up and found there were quite a few little Dudleys. Spending a day in New Mexico, she saw in a magazine, a photographer taking a picture of the first rocket ship to the moon. The photo- grapher was Jim Herron. With him in a picture was his secretary, Rosemary Moreton. Then deciding to start back toward home, she thourJht she would stop again in New York City to see the people she had missed on her first stop. She went to see Shirley Chaufty at the Waldorf Astoria, as a vocalist with Ray Anthony's Band. She then went to the television show Talent Patrol and in the place of Arlene Frances, Helen Allen was placed. Then deciding to take the bus back to Belleville, she went to the bus station. Who do you think was the bus driver? No one but James Reedi Returning to Belleville, she discovered that Mae Durham had opened a tea shop. She went in for a cup of tea and told Mae all about the great (?) accomplishments of the class of '54 13
