Text from Pages 1 - 48 of the 1953 volume:

1 DEDICATION We, the Seniora of  53, wish to dedicate our Tower to Mrs. Blanche Pishel in appreciation for her splendid work in making the instrumental music department, of our school, the notable organization that it is today. Mrs. Pishel graduated from Skidmore College in 1935 with a B. S. degree in music. She taught at Henderson before coming here, as a full- time instructor, five years ago. At that time, there were eighteen members in the Senior Band or Belleville Central School. Since that time, the number has increased to fifty members besides a good-sized Junior Band. Under her super- vision, the Senior Band has participated in many parades and won a name for itself as a snappy and smart looking marching band. Also Mrs. Pishel has increased the musicianship of the instrumental department. As a result of her training, most band members can now sight-read music and have learned the fundementals of rhythm and timing. Again the Seniors of  53 salute Mrs. Fishel, for to us she is a living example of our motto: Seek Harmony . 3 BOARD OF EDUCATION R• Eastman, Clerkj Ralph, President; Shaad, Principal; Williams Chamberlain, Pelton, H. We gained three members through the year. Miss Lerch was our Sophmore advisor until she left at Easter time when Miss Bender replaced her. We ordered our rings this year In order to receive them the first of the Junior year. This was a new event since rings had pre- viously been ordered In the Junior year. We lost two members but gained two leaving the same number of members at the pnd of the Sophmore year. Then as Juniors Mr. Bellinger welcomed us for his last time as a Junior advisor. Our rings came the first week of school. We had an April Showers dance which was very successful. This year, as Seniors, Mrs. Eastman started us working with our play, Hook, Line, and Sinker, and other money making matters. Besides the play we re selling refreshments at football, basketball, and baseball games and plan to have four dances. There are twenty-four members of whom only six started their education in this school. We are preparing for graduation, and thinking of the Senior trip. 7 5 4 CLASS WILL To Our Parents: '.Ve leave our rooms at home for guests To The Board of Education: We leave our bill for the Senior trip. This play was set in a country hotel with the usual eccentric handy-man, but an unusual proprietor, a young and charming gentleman, who is substituting in the absence of his aunt. It had plenty of romance and more than its share of hilarious comedy scenes. The cast were: Harold Hutchinson, Bill Fulkerson, Ginny Bovee, Pat Pelton, Nancy Whitley, Stanley James, Marion Cough, Clayton Hyde, Jane Reed and Katherine Hudson. The stage crew furnished very appropriate and beautiful scenery. The stage crew members were: Jay Merrick, Wayne Boshart, Dick Boyd, Vernon Elmer, Maurice Herron, Shirley Chamberlain, Donna Cook, June Endsley, Rosmond O'Connell, Phyllis Rodgers, Laura Trevett, Joyce Wheadon, Howard Pepper and Charles Tice. 14 15 JUNIORS Brown, Allen, Durham, Hough, Boshart, Reed, NullIn, Nohle, Hudson, Clark, MacDuffie, Bacon, Berry Moreton, Durant, Davie, Eastman, Tiff, Wetterhahn, Lee, Cobb, Erickson, Green, Dowker, Josyln Mr. Green, Herron, Chaufty Hedger SOPHOMORE McGrath, Pickett, Parmenter, Mrs. Otis, Moon, Henry, G.
