V, if ff CHOOL BOARD Dr. John Covey, Mrs. Paul Carman, Miss jean Haynes, Mr. Daniel Woodring, Dr. Enoch Adams, Mr. Musser Gettig, Mr. Hayes Mattern, Mr. Carl Johnson, Mr. Thomas Mensch. The Board of Education supervises the management of all the schools in this district, which includes, the Bellefonte High School, the Dale building, the Bishop Street building, and the Spring Streetbuilding. Of the many duties they perform, setting up the school budget and levying of taxes are two of the most important. The citizens of Bellefonte elect each members for a six year term. The secretary, Jean Haynes, and the treasurer, Hayes W. Mattern, are elected by the School Board. They are not members. After twelve years of faithful service in the capacity of president of the school board, Horace J. Hartranft resigned at the beginning of this school term. His position has been filled by Dr. Enoch Adams a leading physican of Bellefonte.
