FUTURE HOMEMAKER OF AMERICA The Future Homemakers of America. better known to most of us as F.H.A.. is composed of the girls of the Home Economics Department who wish to further their study of the home and learn more that will help them become better wives and mothers. Their sponsor is Miss Ryan. and their officers are: President. Jean Vance: Vice President. Betsy johnson: Secretary. Sandy Lock- wood: and Treasurer. Sherrill Fogt. This year they sent forty pair of mittens to the orphans of Korea. These were collected at Christmas time. when, instead of the 1956 CHANT 26 usual Christmas Tree. they had a mitten tree. Last summer at the State Fair they won first prize for their booth display. They have brought many such awards to our school. Each year they hold a Nlother and Daughter Party that gives the mothers a chance to see what their daughters are accomplishing. Last August the club sent three girls to F.H.A. Camp and they plan to :lo the same this year. for there the girls learned many thing- that have helps-rl them in their club work this year. A salute to these girls and the wonderful work they do.
