SOPHOMORES September l9L7 we entered Belle Union High School as Freshmen with 10 boys and 9 girls to begin our high school career. The 19 members were as follows: Betty arnette, David Christiansen, Juanita Clearwaters, Wayne Cox, Donald Dorsett, Leon French, Duane Gaston, Gene Gibson,Bernice Guy, Betsy Hacker, Gene McCammack, Glen McCammack, Richard Mor- rison, Hobert Morrison, Peggy Schulz, Barbara Shumaker, Pat- ricia Snodgrass, Velma White and Billy Ziegelman. With the help of our sponsor,Mrs. Edith Whitaker, we elected class officers as follows: President --------------------- Duane Gaston Vice President--- -------- Gene McCammack Secretary ------- -------- Billy Ziegelman Treasurer ------- ------ Richard Morrison News Reporters--- ---- David Christianson Barbara Shumaker In the fall of l9u8 we returned to Belle Union High vchool as 3ophomores,to find we had lost Patricia Snodgrass. We called a meeting with our Sponsor, Mrs. Edith Whitaker and elected the following officers. President- ------------- --- ---- Duane Gaston Vice President ------------- Robert Morrison Secretary ------- ---Juanita Clearwaters Treasurer- ------ ----------- Velma White News Reporter ---- ---------- Peggy Schulz Robert Morrison Before the first semster was over Leon French decided to withdraw from school leaving us seventeen. At the begin- ning of the second semester we secured one new member,Bonnie Smith, but she remained with us only a few days. Again all of the boys were out for the basketball squad with Robert Morrison as student manager. This year our social activites consisted of a skating party, Christmas caroling and a chili supper. The girls were all members of the High School Chorus.
