ACTION! Yes, scholars, Belle Plaine means action. From the dulling roar of the silver-throated cheer- leaders to the thundering sound of evil-beany huns galloping through eye level quagmire and yester- day's lunch for today's lunch, Belle Plaine stu- dents are on the go. Through yells of Tally ho , God save the queen , and Yu Gungi 5 over chants and claps to the rhythm of the Surinam National Anthem, the Belle Plaine students press on, never questioning, never wandering, with only one thought, one vision, one goal on their feeble minds--action! Action is the answer, my friends. Whether you play football on Belle Plaine's rock-hard, highly polished, enamel field, play basketball on her grass-turfed court, run on her track, fwith real iron tracks and wooden tiesj or just play around a lot. The football players, their hands soaked in blood, their bodies trembling, give the classic example of action as they parade like Trojan warriors fighting a never-ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way. And then our team, unlike our opponents, fight their never- ending battles for 48 minutes. And who, dis- guised as Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper ...... And the basketball players who dribble like flying flashes up and down the court are now learning to blow those noses and stop those drib- bles. Our track team, the ultimate in masculinity and action, are ever practicing and working, ever Winning! Our boy's team is also outstanding by managing to show up for practice in determined spurts. Are our students the least bit fatigued by this constant action? Yes! They line the halls in droves gasping, wheezing and coughing. But there's no way to slow them down so Belle Plaine will continue to win with action until it reaches that ultimate peak, the river of no return, like an erupting volcano .... the Seniors will grad- uate! Get some corn, maybe they'll come back. K
