The Dragons wound up with a record of six wins and two losses. They were the winners of the new Southern Four Conference. Not only did they have a fine season, but they learned man new things in the line of sportsmanship. They learned that victory was not the only goal to be achieved, but to practice clean and fair play through every game. The 1951 Dragons worked hard to accomplish this record and they leave a trophy to remind all the future foot- ball players of Belle Plaine High School of the 1951 season. BASKETBALL The 1952 Dragons gave the basketball fans some exciting thrills this season by winning and losing several of the games by one and two point margins. The season was not one of the best seasons we have had, but it was an important one as far as physical and moral values were concerned. The final record was about EO-S0 and second place at the county tournament. The three high scorers for Belle Plaine were Dick Leu with 197, Nel- son Bishop with l8O, and Norvin Stunkel with 189 points, 36
