Zac Throughout the 1949-50 track season Belle Plaine trackmen did their best to uphold the very good record made by the 1948-49 squad. With several lettermen returning from last year's team and a group of beginning trackmen, Coach Crouch began with hard practice at the start of the season to try to keep the Sumner County track title which was won the preceding year. The team also took part in the League Track Meet and in dual meets held with other schools and several of the boys entered in their various individual events in both the Anthony and K. U. Relays. Although no records were set by any of this year's trackmen, as had been done by Don Smith, the 1949 star, the boys showed up well during the season and were out to win for B.P.H.S. m .7 The 1949-50 basketball season at BPHS ended withouta league victory, nament, and a with second place in the Sumner County Tour- 7 won, 4 lost record in out-of-league play. This season was an exceptionally tough one for the small but scrappy D ragons. The boys were at a disadvantage in about every game played as far as height was concerned land nowdays that is important in this fast gamel. The team, under the best of coaching by L. C.
